Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the R&B band on one CD: Raydio (1978) and Rock on (1979). Ray Parker Jr., formed the group Raydio in Detroit. They hit big with their very first single 'Jack And Jill', which was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching #8 (R&B #5) in the U.S. and #11 in the UK. The song was featured on the gold-selling debut, Top 10 album Raydio, along with follow-up hits 'Is This a Love Thing' and 'Honey I'm Rich'. The lead single from the second album Rock on was 'You Can't Change That', another Top 20 hit in both the U.S. and the UK. The album achieved gold status in the U.S. again, before Parker re-styled the group Ray Parker Jr.. & Raydio and went on to have many more Pop/Soul hits, including 'Ghostbusters' in 1984, of course. 16 tracks. Edsel. 2010.

Two Great Works from Ray Parker, Jr. and Raydio
First, thanks to the distributors for releasing this double album on CD. I've awaited it for years now. Together with "Loveshine" from Con Funk Shun, I can reminisce on past romantic emdeavors, and party-times.Released in the year 1977, the radio played "Jack and Jill" to death. I had never heard of Raydio, but was made sick of them due to radio overplay. Yet, after I gave the group another chance and listened to their whole album, I became a fan. Raydio consisted of skilled musicians/vocalists, who had a flair for the reaching the Cupid in men and women. Women were enamored of their touching/perceptive love songs, but the ballads also articulated mens' feelings toward their sweethearts. When it comes to the groove, "When You're In Need Of Love" is my favorite because of the rapidly-delivered bass play. As you listen to the samples provided by Amazon, you will hear that you can't go wrong buying this, because all the songs are very good.

Groovin with Jack & Jill
In 1978 the track Jack & Jill got to number 11 in the British charts, I can remember hearing it stand out from all the Rock Pop and other bad music played on radio 1 back then. At the time I didn't know what Soul music was but just thought how can a nursery rhyme sound so groovy, I like this kind of music and from there my love of Black music just progressed.
