Xotic Effects BB Preamp Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal

I gave this pedal 5 stars. It deserves 6, but I can't go that high. I've owned many Distortion pedals, from a Big Muff to a Keeley-mod DS-1. I've had a Bad Monkey, a Boss Metal Zone and many more. In fact, for years I searched for the perfect distortion pedal. I gave up about 6 months ago. Then I discovered the BB Preamp. It works best as a booster, a clean overdrive and a mild gain enhancer. Think AC/DC. That's about as heavy as it gets. However, I use it as a boost for my Mesa/Boogie Maverick, and it sings. Check out Andy Timmons if you want to hear one of the more famous endorsers. Bottom line: I only have two regrets with this pedal: That I didn't find it sooner, and that I didn't buy two of them.

All I will say is you will not regret buying this little pedal, I know what your thinking "Its a liitle much to pay for a pedal" But like the old saying... "you get what you pay for" I think the best way to use this pedal (for my use anyway) is a lead boost, It has alot of gain, but I use the OD from my amp and this pdeal for my lead boost.. I also have the Xotic EP Booster which I leave on at all times... With that being said its a GREAT AMERICAN MADE PEDAL!!! Buy it you won't regret it!!!

Wow..........I finally get to hear the sound I have been wanting and waiting for many years. This pedal is so freakin' light and easy to carry. Absolute genius work. The packing was perfect and landed safely. I own a Gibson LP and it sounds absolutely fantastic. I have a cheap Roland 20w amp and it sounds amazing and in a few months time I am looking to purchase a JVM series. Now I can foresee the sound that this little red dragon gonna breath fire thru this Marshall amp. It is a sin if you don't buy one for yourself......I mean....'sin of ignorance'........Who says Ignorance is bliss..........no.....not with BB Preamp

This pedal is not like an addition to your amp or preamp, it's more like an extension. No added color, just more sound. It's like your knobs go in range to 20 instead of 10! Solidly built and easy to use. Your ear dictates the settings. It's well worth the cost!

With your guitar controls turned up to 9 or 10 this pedal works very well. You can adjust the amount of gain and get an overdrive sound at lower amp volumes. Works very well.

This is one of the most useful and flexible overdrive pedals I have ever owned. Fortunately, it was a gift because it is too expen$ive for what it does. I have a Donner hexadrive which i paid 35$ and if the BB is a 10 then the Hexadrive is a 9. i will trade/sell the BB for several other pedals of better value.

This unit is capable of every degree of dirt from "clean boost" to "edge of breakup" to "heavy overdrive". With my rig I found that it was best suited for clean boost and/or edge of breakup tones boosting other OD pedals. If I had room on by pedalboard, I'd have 3 units at my disposal at all times. As a pro player, I'd highly recommend this one.

チューブスクリーマー系の音じゃないです。 EQをいじれば納得のいくオーバードライブが出ると思います。 クリーン〜クランチや、アンプへのブースターとして使ってます。 ブルース〜ロックよりで激しい歪みは不向きかと。

湿り気のある音,いわばウォーミーサウンドを演出するオーバードライブ,低音から中音域は伸びるが高音はあまり伸びないと言う印象,見た目お洒落,スイッチを入れるときのカチッとする音がたまらない快感,YouTubeでも、演奏動画が見られる。昔から使っているBOSSのオーバードライブも素晴らしいのだが、そこら辺の比較は好みであろう

アンディ・ティモンズなどの名プレイヤーも使用しているペダル 音抜けがよく、とてもクリアな音質 トレブルとベースのイコライザーが優秀でいろんなセッティングに対応 弾いた感じガンガン歪むタイプのオーバードライブではないですね 歪み量はそんなに多くないけどニュアンスが大事なブルースっぽいプレイにはすごく合います 自分は主に真空管アンプのブースターに使っていますが、癖がなく素直にブーストしてくれて素晴らしいペダルだと思います 歪み系ペダルはこれとTS9があれば完璧じゃないでしょうか
