The kit comes with a nice selection of pick tools which seam quite rigid and capable Haven't worked out where to use some of the weird and wonderful shapes as yet the manual gives a good illustrated guide on how to pick the Practice Padlock (but not the the other locks) which i would say is the easiest to pick of all the included locks which each come in there own foam padded case unfortunately the build tolerance of these locks is not brilliant before even trying to pick the cylinder lock i tested it with the key which instantly jammed in the lock with only a quarter turn which took 10 minuets to then free up and be able to remove the Key i was able to pick the first 3 locks within about 20 mins of playing with them but the kits doesn't seam to include a suitable tension wrench for the final lock which you effectively have to pick 4 times to open unfortunately so far i haven't bean able to transfair any of this skill to real locks which are designed with much higher tolerances presumably time and practice will help with this Overall it seams a good kit but the build quality of the practice locks means there nothing like real world locks but then real locks are cheep enough to practice with any way !

Took me 10 minutes to learn how to pick locks...useful training tool.

The picks seem good. When I got it one of the picks was missing (trying to resolve that right now). The padlock core is made out of plastic so that's why you can't use it for practise. Otherwise the lock picks are comfy to hold and look like they're made from stainless steel (like advertised). I opened all of the locks on the first day (the last one you can't open without the right tools and the right tools are not included. If you're going to try to open it without the tools you would have to apply pressure using the steel bar thingy on the back side). If you get all of the stuff that should be included, you'll have a lot of fun. Just don't expect to open all the lock in the world without practise. You can open all of the locks pretty easily if you have some creativity. That's the most important part of picking a lock. If you'll just put the tension wrench inside and just start moving up and down it wont work. Just try to find other solutions to your problems and don't give up. I hope this was helpful.

Its very fun for Beginners but if you are intermediate it is a little to easy. I recommend if you are getting into this hobby and you can hide the pins if you get a bit better etc. I think I got it on sale, but its still a good price.

It's okay, the locks that come with it you can open with any tool, so you'll need to practice on better locks.

Inside of the locks are metal the outside clear. With practice the locks can be opened with various picks. The 4th lock probably needs different tools to open but the tools provided are sufficient for most locks. The instruction manual is next to useless but gives a little idea of how to use the tools. Suggest searching Youtube for instructions on lock picking. The tools should be sufficient for a range of locks. I'm off now to find more locks (with keys) to practice on. Because of these tools it looks promising to have an intriguing hobby that will stretch my brain and help my dexterity. (62 now so my fingers need the exercise). Quality of this set is good for the price.

Looks sturdy and well presented but not tested as got it for the boy for crumble

I got this set earlier today and have enjoyed picking my usual locks using it, there is just one issue I can find which is, in the cylindrical lock one of the four pins has come loose and fallen into the actual mechanism, thus making it easier to pick and causing slight scratches to the see through plastic, apart from that I find that the set is low in responsiveness (you can't feel the feedback from the pins as well as with other, sometimes cheaper, sets) and also, there are a lot of picks which just don't make sense since there is no situation you'd find yourself using them in (there's one for example which has a crescent moon type shape on the end, i believe it's called the "Moon head rake" in the guild). Also, the first 3 locks are really easy to pick and the forth is a HUGE jump in difficulty.

Fair price for what’s in the box, I was able to remove a cylinder from my home of which I didn’t have a key, worth the money.
