Butterscotch pudding has become rare on many supermarket shelves, especially the kind you have to cook...not the instant kind. Jello's Cook & Serve Butterscotch Pudding not only tastes good, but it also restores childhood memories.

It's been decades since I purchased a box of pudding mix. I've only purchased the JELL-O brand, so this, of course, is the one I selected for purchase last week. You see, I had a half-gallon of whole milk in the refrigerator and I needed to use it for something other than yogurt. Now I read the label in the photos and missed the artificial flavoring text because I was drawn to the more prominent text below which boasts a few positive characteristics. Since I had six cartons, it was either give them away or try a package to see how artificial it tasted. The first package made a soft and creamy, very flavorful treat of four 1/2 servings of pudding. I've since discovered a number of recipes that rely on this butterscotch pudding which I'll create next for the kids. This pudding should be retailing for about a buck and change tops each four-serving package and I would pay no more.

I am so thrilled to finally find and purchase Jell-O Cook and Serve Butterscotch pudding. I have been trying to find this for quite some time.I grew up eating both Jell-O and Royal brand cook and serve puddings. The instant will do in a pinch but they cannot compare when it comes to the difference in flavor and consistency. Plus who doesn't love having a spoonful of warm butterscotch pudding? Yum!Now, I just wish that I could find something comparable to Royal puddings "Dark and Sweet" chocolate pudding. I have adapted other cook and serve puddings by adding in dark or semi sweet chocolate to try to relocate and have come close.I just wish the manufacturers would stop making it so hard to get these. Not everyone relies on everything being instant. Sometimes, it's well worth the wait.

I can not tell you how AWESOME of a coconut cream pie my wife makes! The crust is just mouth watering too. But, the price of a BOX of pudding, a small one at that, shouldn't cost more than a piece of pie in a diner would cost!! So, let us know when the cost comes down... I REALLY WANT ANOTHER ONE OF MY WIFES PIES!

I've bought Jello Cooked Pudding for many years and found all available flavors to be very satisfying.
