The camera setup was straightforward and while the app could be better, it is usable and fairly intuitive.I do have concerns about the connection to a server (and more importantly, privacy). While the description states that there is choice between using a microSD card or subscribing to their cloud service, the device *still* connects to a server on the internet (right after it connects your wifi).There are passwords set on the camera (during setup), and I'm using the card slot (and *not* subscribed to the cloud service), but I still wonder who has access to the live stream and/or data recorded on the card, presumably provided through that server connection. The name of the company who wrote the MIPC app (search in Apple App Store, and Google play store) has the word "Mining Technology" in the name...not sure what mining has to do with camera (unless its data mining?). The app only has 3 stars in Apple App Store, and users report bugginess. Since I just purchased, I don't have enough history to decide yet.Anyhow, from what I saw on competitor cameras, most function the same. Nonetheless, I wanted to share my experience with the setup and what's in store if other customers purchase this camera.

This is an excellent camera, and does even more than what I was expecting. The clarity is great, and the sound is okay-although I wish the volume coming from the camera was louder. I am docking a star because there were not really any instructions included to explain how the different features worked. It took me a little while to figure out the motion detection setting. I had emailed asking for assistance (using the email address sent with the camera), but did not get a reply. Once I figured it out, I liked it. But I still wish there was a pdf or insert or something that I could reference to understand everything better.

This is my 1st puppy cam- My dog is 8 yrs old and he had a diarrhea for a couple of days which is unusual (My dog barely has it in his whole life) and I had to go to work. I live alone with him, so I ordered this camera and placed it in my apt. My expectations were low because of the price but this camera works so well! You can rotate it from your smart phone and the video quality is good, you would be able to see what they are doing. The app is easy to use, the installation is also easy. I sometimes check him over the app while I'm at work. This camera also has the microphone, so you can talk to your dogs but I don't use this feature.I've never had any issue with my dog to destroy or swallow something he was not supposed to be (He is a lab, so I got lucky) but I will need the pup cam to see if he is fine since he is reaching senior.

The media could not be loaded.  I love this camera! This is probably the best thing you can get on the market.. the app interface is great! You don’t need an SD card, everything is on the cloud. And also, the picture quality is superb. We turn the cam on on wherever we leave the house to look after our kitty 🐱

Stop your search and buy this NOW! I had been waiting a while to buy a camera for my home/pet because I didnt want to spend a ton of money on something that did do what I needed it to. This camera is the real deal. I cant believe it's so affordable. Easy install. Connects to the wifi. I bought some micro SD chips for memory saving. You can hear and talk pretty clearly through it and even when you're far away the app connectivity is still great. I bought two and they cover pretty much my whole apartment. The Pup and I have never felt safer!

I am just amazed at the quality of this thing, I call it my puppycam, we are expecting puppies and I'm worse than a mother hen, I figured I would either have to sleep in the dogs room with my dog and her puppies or get one of these puppycams to be able to keep an eye on my dog and her pups, it was easy to install the app on my cellphone and easy to set up, I'm technologically challenged when it comes to my cellphone but this was so easy, the picture is amazing, so clear even the picture when there isn't a single light on I can still see what my dog is doing very clearly. Don't let the price fool you, this is a very high quality puppycam/nanniecam anything you want to use it for.

This could easily be a 5-star product if it would simply stay connected. Just about every time I open the app, whether I'm on my own wifi network or my works wifi network, the camera is rarely connected. I'll close and reopen the app for 5 to 10 minutes straight, and if I'm lucky, it will then be connected. Then half the time after I'm connected, it will drop the connection. It is incredibly frustrating! When it does connect it's great, good picture, it's easy to navigate around the camera, but none of these things matter if you can't connect to it. I know it's not my internet, both locations have 100Mb speeds, and I've tested both when not able to connect. It's either an awful app that is used with the camera, which is what I'm leaning towards, or there is an issue with the wifi connection device within the camera. Either way it leaves the camera useless the majority of the time, which is a real bummer. I will and I recommend that you look around for another device that is verified to stay connected. It seems I'll have to return this unit. I have a senior cat that I need to keep an eye on and I need something reliable, this isn't it.
