An excellently designed and built pen that looks classy and feels solid. Works great with standard Quink ball point refills, but my preference is the Quink gel ink refills for retractable Parker pens. This Galaxy pen is a redesign of an old model where the top half of the pen is pushed down to activate the retractable pen point instead of the usual (Jotter style pen) push button on top of the pen. But this new model Galaxy is a little more stylish and tapered than the older pen model from 30 years ago.Jotter is still my go-to everyday use pen, but the Galaxy is for special occasions when you want a pen that feels better with its tapered body, looks impressive with stainless steel construction while writing better than the other gel ink pens. Pentel/Uniball style pen is plastic-looking, clunky (thick, fat grip) with no class. You can't beat Parker's solid, non-breaking metal clip.

TL;DR: Nicely built pen. I give this one 4/5 stars with one star taken off because of the lousy included Parker QUINKflow cartridge (everyone should know about this by now) which should be immediately replaced, and the non-captive spring which can get you into trouble if it falls out.DETAILS: Out of the box this pen is not bad. The build quality feels good. This is not a large pen. At 5.5"/14.0cm it is a little longer than the Parker Jotter. Because of the way the clicker mechanism works, the top half of the pen rattles a little but not when writing. Be careful, the refill spring in the nose of the pen can fall out when the pen is open. Then, if you put the spring back in backwards the pen mechanism will not only stop working, it may be almost impossible to get the spring back out to turn it around the right way. (Keep the flared end of the spring toward the rear of the pen.) The pen came with a Parker branded QUINKflow 0.8mm/F cartridge which was (unsurprisingly) terrible to write with. I strongly recommend changing the cartridge with something like a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 or perhaps a Monteverde P44 Ceramic Gel refill (smoooth). I fitted my pen with a Monteverde P44 Ceramic refill which worked flawlessly. This pen is made in Northern India (Uttarakhand) primarily for the India/Nepal markets. On the back of the card included in the blister package it says the maximum retail price is INR 375 (Indian Rupees) which roughly translates to $5.50 USD at my time of writing (24 June 2018). That's around half the $9.99 sell price here on Amazon before any shipping, which is reasonable in my opinion with estimated margins and fulfillment costs to the Amazon U.S. sell point given the product's origin, and assuming zero Indian Government subsidies.

A great pen if you love the jotter model and want something different. A slightly more dressed up version of the jotter. These are legit pens made by Luxor under license from Parker. What that means is you get the most practical bang for your buck and great classic style.

Pen writes smoothly and clean design -but is probably better in black ink.

EXCELENT PRODUCT BEEN IN THE MARKET FOR A LOT OF YEARS

This will be my "go to" pen. Ordered one more because I just can't go wrong. The cap of this pen slides down over the barrel in order to make it retract, making it unique. I'd seen these Parkers years ago, but just never bought one.

This is the pen that intended in receiving however I receive a different style of pen???

Best writing pen that I own. It's very smooth ball point that almost writes like a liquid ink pen. I liked so well that I have purchased several for gifts.
