I've tried different pill splitters over the years and this one is definitely the best so far. It's simple and effective. No messing around with aligning pills in a case hoping they stay that way when the lid closes to cut them. Sure it's one pill at a time compared to some multiple pill splitters, but the results are worth it. These scissors are very sharp and cut the pills with equal pressure from both side simultaneously, reducing the likelihood that the pill will be crushed or unevenly split. For the price, it's definitely worth a try.

I love how easy these are to use. I feel like I have more control than with the guillotine-like pill cutters.It’s not perfect— sometimes the cuts aren’t 50/50. More like 55/45, perhaps. Still, it does the job effectively enough and that’s what I need.It’s also easier to cut several pills in succession than with a guillotine type.

I think this is the best or one of the best quality pill cutter out there. Most alleged cutters on here are made of cheap plastic and more crush than cut. Theres also issues with pill size in those and if course they break easily. There was one made out of all metal but there were reports of still crushing a bit. The scissors are really good but of course there are cons.For one there is some crushing (although very little) depending on the pill coating and fragility. If you have arthritis and hand disabilities or issues this isn't for you. The small pills can be a pain but you have control of the cut and angle so it's basically a give and take situation. If you have the dexterity and ability to use the scissors it's a breeze and super effective. The size of the pills is also a variable as you will have to hold it.If you have mobility issues or arthritis and the like maybe the all metal one is best although I have no idea if it's performance.

Wonderful! I got this after needing to divide 20mg omeprazole (Prilosec) into 5mg doses for my dog. Using a knife was so frustrating, time consuming, and it was hard to get accurate divisions. But this handy cutter slices through the pills with ease and accuracy! It does take some dexterity to get the smaller pieces but it's as precise as you'll get. It's worth the money!

These scissors are consistently more effective for splitting pills cleanly (without crushes & crumbles) vs the various miniature-guillotine-in-a-case type splitters. But, it does require a bit of dexterity and clear close-up vision to line up the tablet between the blades ‘before’ clamping down. If your hands shake a little, or youre missing your ‘readers,’ results may vary. These are built more like small pliers with thick blades that can cut harder & thicker tablets. I check the placement of the bottom blade (one facing up) to be sure its hitting the middle of the tablet (top blade facing down is easy to see) and that helps ensure both top and bottom blades are coming together in the middle of the tablet.

The Auvon Scissors makes a complete and clean cut, with very little effort. It is unique that it cuts the pill on both sides at the same time. I can finally get even-cut halves without crushing my pills. Works on large and small pills. Great value for the price...highly recommended.
