SanDisk ImageMate PRO USB-C Multi-Card Reader/Writer, works with SD and microSD cards (UHS-II, UHS-I, non-UHS) and CompactFlash cards

Using this with a SanDisk Extreme Pro 1 TB microSDXC card gave me a write speed of 100 MByte/sec and a Read speed of 140MB/s - 10 times quicker than my old Sandisk Reader. The reader feels solidly built, the SD Slots have a latch mechanism to stop accidental disconnects, and there's a nice "In use" Light on the top of the device - it's a nice palmable size, too. It's also very well priced for the build quality and speed. The only drawback is that it's not a true USB-C Device: On the back of the unit is a MicroUSB3 socket, and in the box a MicroUSB3 to USB-C Cable - MicroUSB3 is a bit of an unusual connector, so while they give you everything you need in the box, it limits the "Use Everywhere" appeal as you have to carry a rare-ish cable around with you. I'm using mine with a PIHEN USB 3.0 A to Micro B Cable (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075M62PXB), as my photo rig has USB3, but not USB-C. Also have a PIHEN USB-C to Micro B Cable to use as a high quality travel cable (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JDYDQH6)

Read a review on some clever computer type website and this came out the top of their list of "best SD card reader". I plugged in and lo and behold I can now view high quality videos straight from my SD card without waiting for it to buffer 10 seconds of video every 30 seconds. And copying from SD to PC is wow time. With my old card reader, it took about 4 hours to copy 24 gB. With this reader it took under 20 mins. I'm well impressed.

The card reader does its job but the cable link only just fit properly. This product is a bit rough around the edges - spending more money would probably have given me a more finished product. However, it reads cards!

I've had cheaper card readers in the past and it is a false economy. Even the connector pins come loose and the device is dead. Ultimately Sandisk are worth every penny. Very happy with this purchase.

Changed cameras and needed a CF reader and wanted this style. The lead could be a bit longer but apart from this it is well made and heavy enough not to slide all over the place if you sneeze on the cable.

Great product - works straight out of the box.

Having had a few very flimsy lightweight card readers that made me nervous every time I plugged a card in its nice to finally have one that securely seats the CF card, nice long travel to guide the card before it hits the connector ensuring a cleanly aligned contact. Speed is good but I suspect it'll be a lot better when I actually get a USB slot to plug it into

As others had stated do not try and insert a Micro SD HC card in this reader. I decided to buy this one as I had SanDisc items for many years. I decide to try a disc as soon as I opened the box. I used a little tape stuck to it, so I was able to remove the disc, if it had stayed inside it did not matter as it was an old one. This particular item was not fit for purpose.

This is a good card reader and a very reliable one. The advantage is that it come with a Micro B cable on the card-reader end for Data + Power supply, which is usually used for portable hard drives and USB-C on the device end such at Mac Pc. And I can actually use my portable hard drives Micro B to USB 3.0 for Windows pc. The card reader is heavy which is on a good side because its a durable and sturdy built.
