Barklimiter is life changing !!
Just purchased and placed on three of my most barky pups. This Garmin Tri-Tronics Sport Pro Dog, PRO 550 trainer with auto barker, "Barklimiter" is the best bark trainer !! And humane to our dogs ! hey seem fine wearing the collars and have had not false alarms. We had used Petrainer for a year with success, until a couple of our Bernese Mountains Dogs learned to override, ignore the anti-bark setting. I do like Petrainer, as a starter or as less sophisticated trainer for the less challenging pup. There was way to much unnecessary, nuisance barking by three of our five hounds... After research and a friend referring this bark-trainer collar, we spent the big bucks and also purchased the 2 additional collars. The setting for the no bark auto setting works perfectly, with no false stimulation (zaps). We place the collars on the pups at about 6 PM, as they get to play out back in the evening through the night. There was a lot of the problem barking, with some howling, accrued from their night/sleeping kennel dog house. Then I remove the collars during the day to give them a break. As the collars fit snug, I want to be sure there's some collar free time. I did change out the pins for the longer ones. Berners have two very thick furry coats. The assembly is a bit time consuming out of the box. You just need some quiet time to follow the through instructions in English, for me. Lots of parts and pieces. If you've installed a bark trainer before, I think it helps you understand where you're going in the assembly. The batteries have not had to be recharged yet. I assume they will last a while. As this trainer is very well engineered and well built with quality materials. Water resistant, haven't had that challenge with the collars. I trimmed the collars tails, plenty of length provided for the biggest pups. I've not switched back and forth using the remote to change setting, while the dogs are wearing the collars. I'm sure they will work well, too, as I tested the functions, when I placed the collars on the dogs. Maybe a bit cumbersome changing between the auto anti bark Continuous "Barklimiter" on, then off to use the Vibrate, Tone and light setting. I'm getting to know those settings. Then when you need to quickly reactivate the "Barklimiter". I'm still getting the hang of that. The first night, Boomer, my big male, somehow had the light on continuously in the backyard. He looked like a lit up Furry Christmas tree, until I figured out that I'd turned the light feature on. A great bright feature, if you need the night location of your pup. I do turn the collars off, when removed, to save the batteries. Then I get more practice learning how to use the remote, as it takes some practice to get the hang of operating it. The only downside is the pups don't bark at the deer coming in the yard or the UPS delivery guy. I promise you this bark trainer with "Barklimiter" will change you and your pups life for the better. An instant stress reducer ! First thing my husband said, when the "Barklimiter" worked, was YES !!

Must-Have for Training Bird Dogs
A must-have for training. I use this with my bird dogs in the field and it’s been a game changer. The one-hand operation is incredibly convenient, especially during active hunts, and the range and reliability are excellent. It’s durable, easy to use, and works exactly when you need it.

If you're looking for a well thought out training collar, look no further!
I have a Belgian Malinois, which can be a bit headstrong as a breed, but have hearts of gold - and slobber ; ) I have never used an external training device without testing it thoroughly on myself on ALL settings, which has saved my hairy friends from a few brands of non-visible fencing. That being said..... My initial impression of the collar was that it was solid feeling, but not heavy. The construction is robust and waterproof. The collar was designed smartly in that instead of a plug-in charging system where mud and water could cause damage and aggravation, it has 4 gold looking pads which align with the charger. It uses a clip-on charger that is smartly made. After a short 2 hour charge it was good to go, and I have found that it holds a charge for about 48 hours using tone, vibrate, and the LED lights at night. The collar has tone, vibrate, and varying degrees of stimulus if needed. I have the collar set to 6, which affects him visibly just a little more than vibrate (meaning he is looking at me for direction from the correction). I have found the vibrate function to be quite vigorous, getting his attention 90% of the time (when used with tone simultaneously) even when he's in 'turn and burn' mode (If you own a Malinois you get it) when he and the cat toy with each other. There is a bark inhibitor feature as well, with the ability to step up the stimulation automatically with the volume and frequency of the offending bark. I disabled that feature so I cannot comment as to its effectiveness. The only things I would change would be to move the LED lights to the front cover of the collar to make more effective use of them, and the ability to light all four corners on demand for extra brightness (it would come at a penalty to the length of the charge but would be handy just the same). I have to ask why Garmin wouldn't include the holster to clip it to ones belt given the price point (there wasn't even a wrist strap in the packaging which surprised me as I'm a GPS customer as well), as it would be easy to accidentally dial a higher setting and cause unwanted/overly harsh stimuli while in a pocket. You can add up to 2 extra training collars so as to be able to train 3 different dogs as well. There's a toggle switch and the programming can be customized between collars for larger or smaller dogs. I have no regrets with this purchase, and would recommend this product used with solid training techniques! This collar is well designed, with a neat LED light to either track the dog or aid their vision, but I found it makes a neat little light on walks at night.

Very good e-collar, even though only 10 levels. Simple to use and works well. Need to be careful to ensure good contact with skin for my furry dog, but works great when contact is good and it's on snug.

Highly recommend this collar. I took my dog to a board and train and learnt how to probably use it and it works great. I’ve never had any issues and my dog responds really well. Very user friendly.

Luckily haven't had to test the range as my boy has stayed close, but we've trained his recall to include the vibration on the collar which is a helpful feature when they're running in the woods and you don't want to be yelling. The little headlights are handy. The only downside I believe is when you don't realize the toggle on the top has been hit and is now on a different collar setting, meaning that if you need to use your collar your dog won't be getting any feedback whatsoever. Overall a good product, only comparison I can make is to a Dogtra collar my parents dog has, it most certainly has better features the only physical difference is the Garmin is a bigger device on the dog - but could be from a better battery(ies)?

This a great e-collar and I am happy with it. The only complaint is that the intensity dial is too easy to move and a few times I didn’t check it and it was either on the AUX setting, or a higher setting than I wanted. If they could fix this it would be a 5 star.
