Carbide is worth it
Not having to lube the cases saves a lot of time. I’ve used this for set to load about 500 rounds and I’ve not had any issues with this set. Just like my other Lee sets— this has got what you need. I’m not a huge fan of the collet style decapping pin retainer, because I feel I’m always tightening them down. However, it does avoid bending or breaking the pin of I hit a off-center flash hole.

No worries
Lee dies are my favorite to use. Easy to set up, carbide pistol dies pretty much require 0 Lube. I've tried others, I still use the odd rcbs small base set on fired military 308 brass. I had a set of hornady 45 dies. Hated em. I'm not against hornady, love their bullets, but lee dies are still going strong for me after 1000s of rounds.

This is the .38 Special Carbide 4-Die Set is one of the best values on the market. It includes the shell holder, powder measure scoop, powder threw die, the full length sizing die, bullet seating die, and the the factory crimp die. The instructions include all of the instructions and information you will need for loading not only .38 Special but also .357 Magnum. This die set is like getting two sets of dies in one.I have many of Lee Dies for pistol and rifle rounds. They are one of the best, if not the best die manufacturing companies anywhere.This set is highly recommended. Well worth a full five star review.
