how big is the packaging it comes in?

The packaging is great. Compact for such a large yacht. Probably 4'X 1'x1'. Easy to build but be careful on the radio installation it's a tight fit.

Great fun with only the receiver battery to worry about

It handles very well with any additional modifications, it is a beautiful RC model.

Product problem

I read this material to mean this boat does not include a remote control. I'll be interested in it when it does.

Needs work

As a RC model boater I thought this would be a real thrill on the pond. The quality of the model is good , BUT the balance of the model, "lateral resistance" was way off the boat would not tack, would come to wind and stall. I tried adding some weight to the boat to see if that would help carry the boat through a tack that helped, but the down side was sinking the boat below the intended waterline. After looking at it I decided to increase the area of the keel by 50%. reattached and set sail across the pond and now the boat tacks as it should. In simple terms now when you turn the rudders they now have something to turn against. Multi-hulls are tough to begin with to tack, but this simple addition to the keel now but this RC model in the winners circle. There are other areas that need attention. electronics and setting up servos. In conclusion if you are a beginner stay away if you are really good with RC yes it is a challenge, but with some thought you can make this boat sail really well.
