Q: Do these stop the carpet from crushing like the spiked cups?

Of all the castors I've bought (brass, wood, and plastic), I've found the brass ones far and away the best. They cushion the carpet as they're supposed to and then make for easy movement of furniture for vacuuming etc. I have a dining chair which gets moved every day and the previous day's marks soon disappear. I hope this is of use to you.

Q: What is the internal depth?

The depth is around 4mm. It is a little hard to measure but is certainly no more than 5mm

Q: Can you use these to slide a heavy solid wood bed (inserting bed legs into the castors) over carpet, or are they non-slip?

Hi I have mine on a carpet don’t think they would slip if the bed was solid. Make sure you measure the width of the bed legs to fit the size of castor. They are very stylish too.

Q: Is it 54mm internal or external?

54mm is the outside, and the inside is 49mm-50mm Hope that helps

The brass cups are better than the plastic cups as I have had a set they all broke

Brass much better than plastic and stronger, plastic ones I had broke one by one.
