Phone looks great but seems lacking in durability
In most respects this phone looks very much like the real thing. Finish is excellent. From a distance of more than a few feet the only thing that gives it away as not being the real deal is the dial (and even that could be easy to miss). The hook switch is really light duty plastic and the part the receiver sits in isn't quite the right diameter to fit the earpiece but the receiver does sit in it just fine. I'm apprehensive as to how long the hook switch will last.As some others have mentioned, the ringer is very poor. It is a high pitched electronic beep type, rather than a bell, as one would expect on a nostalgia replica such as this. To add insult to injury the electronic ringer is so weak it can hardly be heard more than a few feet away, even on its highest setting. My solution to that was to install a single gong ringer out of an old "Princess" phone in the space below the coin box (if you remove the laminated steel weight one of these bells just barely fits in that space). Obviously, not everyone would have the capability of doing that (let alone the required parts).Another solution to the ringer problem might be to install one externally in its own enclosure on the wall just below the phone.

Looks Nice
The telephone has a pleasant, nostalgic appearance. This was purchased as a gift, and was obviously a return. The coins were not falling through. We had to open the phone (which was neither easy, or appreciated), and discovered numerous foreign coins stuck in the slot. After removing them, we found that only dimes fit through the slot. All others jammed up. The speaker continually falls out, and this requires opening, and re-clipping the piece. Would’ve preferred a new product, considering the price.

Works great, works with the X-Link for mobile
I've always wanted a payphone as a home phone. Although this one wasn't rotary like the older ones, it definitely gives the look and feel of one so I settled. We haven't had many spam callers hit yet, but it felt like a horror movie when it rang at the struck of midnight!! Lol. It works great, though. It works with the X-Link device as well for anyone who uses a mobile device (we have a mobile line/device dedicated as our home phone line). I may still try to go on the hunt for the rotary version of this, if I can find one, but this'll work for now!
