A strong performer
I don't own a lot of knives or know intricacies of specialty knives, but I do have common sense when it comes to quality and garbage. This is quality, hands down. This is a very small little knife that would be good for a backup, or something to have for that "worst case scenario". Basically, if it comes down to do or die, this little gem will hold up. It's an inexpensive knife, but built very well. 2 fingers go into the holes, the rest of your fingers gripping on the underside of the blade and on the notched side of the blade iteslf. It might seem awkward, but you will be able to figure out a comfortable and useable way to hold and handle it very quickly. The blade is strong and thick, sharp right out of the box too. A light sharpening and you are MORE than set. The thing I really like is that the sheath it comes with can be placed horizontally on a belt, meaning that this can be carried in a very concealed manner without bulging, sagging down on your rump or dangling around your kneck (unless you prefer that--it does come with a lanyard). The sheath is solid, holds the knife well, and you can deploy this knife easily. I'd say this is a very user-friendly knife that could be handy in a tricky situation. I had been looking for a small tough knife that can be hidden easily and used for unforeseen personal protection while travelling abroad. This knife meets all those requirements. So, I can only recommend it!!

Sharp little neck knife
Such a great little neck knife! I use it everyday. Has a nice weight and balance to it and is super sharp. The holster keeps the blade affixed snugly until it comes time to use it. If you need a sharp little neck knife, this is a great one to have. A few people have complained about the chain, but I think its fine, haven't had a problem with it at all.

Indiscrete knife for neck carry
Perfect size for comfortable neck carry. Good retention and easy to draw out of holder. Blade shape is perfect and fit a couple of fingers nicely. Weight is perfect and knife feels balance. Highly recommended for the quality and reasonable cost 👌

Decent neck knife, not sold on it as a belt knife
I originally bought the SOG Snarl as an alternate "last ditch knife" to my Ka-Bar TDI which I love. When I received the Snarl however I was initially disappointed with a few things. First, the sheath was and still is a fairly tight fit for the knife and requires more force than usual to draw the blade compared to other molded nylon sheaths I have experience with. Second, the belt clip was very loose, and because this knife is designed for a horizontal draw while on the belt, I found that the only way I could get the blade out of the sheath was when the clip caught onto one of my belt loops and required me to really yank the blade free from the sheath. My third gripe was that the blade was not very sharp out of the box. I wasn't expecting much in terms of blade sharpness, but was hoping for something decent given the brand and the high reviews, but a simple paper cut test with this knife was underwhelming. Thankfully, a lot of the problems I had with the stiff sheath and crappy belt clip was mitigated by the fact that the SOG Snarl can also be modified to be a neck knife. While wearing the SOG Snarl around my neck, I found that I still had to give the knife a good yank in order to draw it but with the way this knife is designed you always have a good fighting grip which I like. I am still a bit worried about how well the metal chain would hold up since I have to draw with considerable force in a downward motion. In the end, I struggled a bit with how to rate the SOG Snarl. I figured as a last ditch get off me sort of knife I would give it a one star, while as a small unobtrusive neck knife I would rate it as four stars, so three is what I came to. UPDATE: I feel like my initial reaction to the SOG Snarl was a bit premature due to my inexperience with small fixed blades at the time. I updated my star rating accordingly and actually took the chain off and the clip back on for a left handed horizontal draw that works flawlessly.

Almost a great, little knife
SOG got a lot of things right with this knife. The size is perfect for what this knife is. The fit and finish are really nice. No sharp edges except on the jimping where you want it. The sheath is fantastic. It holds the knife securely in any carry position I've tried. I don't think you could shake the knife loose if you were a major league pitcher. And I love that they made it usable as either a neck knife (chain included) or attachable to your belt, waistband, pack etc with the included, removable clip. The finger indentations on the spine are a really nice touch for things like food prep using a pinch grip. So what's not to like? Mine wasn't very sharp out of the box, but that's not a deal killer by any means. It would be pretty simple to put an edge on this if I keep it. But the thing that drives me crazy with this and a lot of other wharncliffes is that the handle gets in the way of using the full length of the blade unless you work right at the edge of a table or cutting board. Look at the attached pictures and try to imagine dicing chives or something. It won't work unless you hold the knife so that the handle is not above your cutting surface. All they had to do was take that handle down a couple of milimeters. Sure, I could grind the handle down and sharpen the knife and solve both my complaints in 15 minutes. But after paying $35 for a knife made of meh steel, I'm not too keen on voiding the warranty straight out of the box. I haven't decided for sure, but this one is probably going back, and that's a shared. It was so close. Oh, and if you want to see a wharncliffe that got it right, look at the Yojimbo 2.

Inexpensive Compact edc with balls
I have probably 2 dozen fixed blades. This little knife is one of the most inexpensive ones but easily in my top 3 favorites .It is a solid little self defense knife that is just all around bad ass. Pretty good ergonomics, decently sharp out of box but super easy to sharpen and it gets sharp, sheath has great retention and it is super easy to conceal.Only problem may be if you have larger hands.I wear a glove size 8 so I have mediums hands and it's perfect size. Definitely worry the money!

Love this little knife. A lot of options for carrying it. Even comes with a necklace. Belt clip is removable and can be reversed. Grip is very secure and comfortable.
