An overall great USB3.0 hub
First of all, for some reason Amazon has asked about it's camera quality...It's a USB hub. It doesn't have a camera. Now onto the review:This device arrived in a box more fitting a new smartphone, so already it has the impression of luxury. Opening it up, everything is wrapped nicely. The brushed aluminium of the hub looks stylish and it has a fair old heft to it so this isn't a hub for regular travel. So the first thing I do upon buying electronics is crack it open to see what I've bought. Taking out the 8 end screws, I see the pcb is held in runners and glued in place using double sided tape. Nothing wrong with that, it's held in place by the aluminium end pieces anyway. Pulling out the PCB to inspect the soldering which can so often be generally awful on chinese-manufactured devices, I see that overall it is of a nice high quality. A couple of mounds here and there, and less than preferable on one of the ground pins of a USB shield, but overall nothing to worry about. One thing I would have liked to see on a device this high end is more filtering on the supply voltage, but that's me being nit-picky.Now why the four stars? The cables. The power brick is large so it takes up 2 slots on my surge protector, and the cable itself is only 1m long. A 2m cable would have been much more preferable at negligible cost increase for Orico. The USB3.0 cable is 1m too but that's expected and to standard. Overall though, this makes positioning more awkward than I'd have liked for a £35 hub.How does it perform? Great. Devices are detected straight away. I can no longer hear my scrolling through my external DAC and in-fact the noise-floor is now inaudible. Transfers are as fast as they should be.All in all, a great device, but missing the 5/5 over a few small niggles.

Great quality but be aware of power switch issue....
Firstly this is a great quality unit, well built and works just as expected. One thing you will need to take into consideration is what i think is not a great design is the built in power switch. The switch is what is known as a momentary switch which does not have a solid on or off, it is just a click (think like a door bell), this means that when the power is turned off in the room the unit will reset to off and remain off even when you turn the power back on in the room. Now the issue for me is like most people you probably wont be putting this in pride of place on your desk but most likely tucked behind a monitor or something, so this issue is, if you shut down your office / studio etc the unit will reset to off and you have to remember to physically turn the hub back on every time. The issue is that if you forget this routine you find you have hard drives and other peripherals no connected at your computers start up which can cause issues if you need these on when your computer starts up.The unit is great as long as you get in the practice of remembering to turn it on first every time, would have been so much better in my opinion if it had a physical power switch or like every other hub i have owned ...not one at all...

Not cheap, but well made
I bought this to connect multiple external drives to my computer. It is a very sturdy metal frame with a hefty power supply to go with it. The supplied USB3 cable is long enough to work well.

Noisy
Looks to be well made but very noisy. Would not recommend.

Avoid
Nicely built but, when I tried to plug 3 external drives into it, it caused problems with my external monitor. It took me the best part of an hour to return the monitor to its original resolution.
