RGRS EZ Flash Omega Micro SD Game Card for NDS NDSL IDSL GBA GBASP EZFLASH [video game]

After building my 4th, er, maybe my 5th handheld emulator, I remembered where I had my original GBA SP stashed.Between this EZ Flash Omega card, a 32GB Sandisk Ultra microSD, and a installing a FunnyPlaying IPS display, I'm having a blast playing all my old GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advanced, and NES games on this small handheld device. Thanks EZ Flash for making this really easy.Fair disclosure, I use linux systems, so mounting the SD card was done automatically with the built in software. I did not have to install any 3rd party windows or mac software. I just needed to drag and drop the game files into the correct folders on the SD card. If you're using a windows computer, consider booting with a Linux Live boot CD/thumb drive to copy your rom files onto the SD card.

This cartridge is loaded with the software for the definitive edition, which is incorrect as this is the non-definitive edition. As a result it will not update if you use the firmware ezekernal.bin 1.09 for this cartridge as it will not detect it as correct. If you attempt to update using definitive edition firmware ezkernalnew.bin 1.03, which is the version the wrong software that's on here is asking for, you will need to flip a small switch which this version of the cartridge lacks, bricking the cartridge. After a return, the replacement has the exact same problem. Not buying again.

Pound for pound and dollar for dollar, this is the best GBA flash cart on the market. The Krikzz Everdrive GBA X5 Mini is a technically superior product, but only barely... and it costs three times as much. The Everdrive offers GB and GBC playback without need for an emulator, and the menus tend to be a bit more intuitive. That's it... literally. And it costs a hundred bucks more. This is a plug and play device. Just drop ROMs anywhere on the SD card with your file explorer of choice, and that's it. Make sure directories don't have more than 2gb of files in each. I broke my ROMs apart alphabetically by the first letter of the game, and that does the trick nicely. Really awesome product, this one, and it brought my Gameboy Micro out of the junk drawer graveyard. Definitely recommended.

I have spent probably twenty hours playing with this and it is amazing going from a computer emulator back to the gba sp. the only warning I have is that fire emblem (& even more so fire emblem mod/hacks) will not save like you are used to saving. In unchanged fire emblem games you will have to go to the main menu to be certain a save has written. In the fire emblem hacks I played it wouldn’t write saves even when I saved and copied save at the end of the chapters. It’s still great and have been able to really enjoy some final fantasy!

My EZ flash omega was sent to me by retro game repair shop. They also sent me my gba ips v2 screen. Both made my gba a new console. The EZ flash took all 90 of my roms. Plays and saves them perfectly. Gba video roms play and load fine. The 64 mb movie ones like shrek for example are too much for the ez flash as it only has 32mb on board flash that it loads the roms onto so thats a bummer but other than that. Flawless. Hope this helps.

Awesome product to play your favorite Roms and Rom Hacks like Pokémon, Mario, DBZ, EtcBeen using it to play Pokémon FireRed Rocket Edition and works like a charm!Some games will have visual glitches due to the emulator on the Flash Cart e.g. Pokémon CrystalBut aside from that, a must if you want to play your favorite roms/hacks on your GBA or DS!Highly recommend it!

The EZ Flash Omega is a great flashcart for anyone with a GBA to use. It does have some drawbacks, however.Pros:- Can play any gba game flawlessly from what I can tell- Has a real-time clock even as a flashcart- Multiple ways to saveCons:- The GB and GBC games are rough at times, with slowdown and glitches- It's GB/GBC emulator is unable to be changed and cannot support many romhacks, and most notably it cannot run Pokemon Crystal without glitches all over the screen.

Loved the little extra sticker that came with my cart. Now I can relive my joy of finishing Circle of the Moon again. A long with a few other games whose carts I've misplaced over the years. Though keep in mind, if you get this unit, you'll want to visit the home website to follow a few instructions before using it.
