I used the 'width' of the screen (that part that is adjustable) to insert into the top and bottom of the sliding glass window grooves of the window above my kitchen sink. Just insert the screen into the bottom groove, slide the screen up to push it into the top groove, then slide the window to the edge of the screen. Having the top and bottom of the screen tucked into the grooves makes it stay put if the wind comes up, being able to resist fairly strong gusts of wind.

Simple, clean lines, no unnecessary gadgetry. It just does what it's supposed to and does it well for the money. It's not the thickest best screen or frame but for the money compared to others on Amazon, it lets in the fresh air, keeps out the bugs and doesn't rattle or move about when the window is pulled down onto it to hold it steady. My only suggestion would be to add a little knob or handle on one of the sides so it doesn't fall out onto the ground when you push the window back up to disengage it. Very minor but would be helpful. I like this very much and glad I bought it. Remember there is nothing but the window sandwiching it onto the sill to hold it in place so it would not be a good line if defence against a child or pet.

One of my screens arrived with two missing black corners that serve to stabilize the screen and allow the two pieces to slide easily (see pic). I contacted their customer service asking for replacement corners. Instead they sent a brand new screen. The screens work well, are cost effective, and are super easy to install. Their customer service was helpful and responsive.

Good to keep my room cool or to let in some fresh air during the hot late spring and summers. I never really saw the need for window screens until I got kittens... living on the first story as I do, I had to invest in screens the second I brought my two 9 week old buggers home. I did a lot of research and thought I'd need something with really strong, metal wiring to keep them from fighting through, but as it turns out? These are perfectly fine.I got them as a temporary solution as I was trying to figure out how to build and proper install more permanent window screens. My kittens have respected these screens since the start though, and they generally have no desire to tear through or claw at them. I have really sweet kittens (now almost cats. I've had them over half a year now with these screens). I'd get one of these screens and test them with a single window whilst keeping an eye on your cat to see if they'll behave around it. I'm perfectly confident in my ability to leave my kittens with these in my open windows for hours.For installation, easy. Pull these open to the length of your windows, fit them behind the outer grooves on the sides of the window, pull window down to snugly hold the screen in place. My window is much longer than the shortest screen, but I just bought that and carefully snapped out the black pieces that hold the screens in place, reconfigured the screens to open the other way round, then snapped them into place again. Just be careful not to pull on them too hard. I reckon a little too much force would break them.Perfect value for me. I get to have fresh air and breeze, my kittens get to look out the (usually closed and translucent) windows and enjoy the view, and there are no kittens falling out my window. Cool and pretty decently sturdy stuff for cheap. Don't think it gets better than these.

Finally found a large and wide enf screen for one of my bedroom windows...since it adds to a smaller screen outside of same window - this one is used inside - it was perfect!the story is my indoor declawed cat - got out thru a small bottom opening of window plus thru the outside screen bending it.....who knew?at 3am in the morning - after some unknown animal in our large backyard at the time was passing thru.....anyway...he was safe after many upset hours of him returning on his own.....he never was outside in his 9 years.....thank you Flyzzz in having the right size needed- lets see if and when this drama will happen again!

I live in an old building in downtown Portland and the windows are quite large. I wanted to be able to have my windows open without the fear of my cat jumping or falling out. It was hard to find the right size, but finally did. These are great and just what I need, but they have a very strong chemical smell.

I live in downtown SF and most buildings have great windows but no screens. I was hesitant to buy these because they're pricey, but they're great way to have my windows open and not worry about bugs or birds flying in. I hammered mine into the side of my window pane, so I don't have to take them in and out.

Honestly it feels a little pricey for what you get. I do appreciate that it looks nicer than most of the unfinished wood window screens that you can get. The mesh is solid. My window still had a decent gap where it met the screen, which I had to remedy with a piece of sticky foam.All in all I don't regret the purchase, especially since it was hard to find a screen that fit the extremely small window in my bathroom.

I returned it because it was too small for my needs....but no issue with product itself
