This is the legit one. don't buy the knockoffs.
I saw this 'kind' of solder sucker a few times and though 'hey that's a great idea, it looks way better than those 30 year old blue RS ones". so I bought one. it was bad. bad bad bad so bad. the plunger would jam every single pump. the end went flying. I threw it away.I then saw this one.It looked a bit different. so did some research on the company. turns out they make legit tools. This was enough to convince me to actually throw down money again on this kind of product. This is the one. it works INCREDIBLY well. fits nicely in your hand. The others were way larger and more cumbersome. Suction is extremely powerful and cleans most holes in one shot. In fact it can pull so much solder in one shot that cooled bits will likely pop back out when you go to reload so make sure to do it over a bowl/cup. It's easily reloadable and triggerable with one hand, not having to contort your hand in extreme ways to do it. It even comes with a couple inches of extra replacement tubing you can cut as needed. It also hasn't jammed on me once.5/5 across the board. this works exactly like you would expect and is well worth the money. recommending this to other EE friends.

The best in the biz
Durable, works well. It will spoil you so beware! I had a solder sucker that came in a pack with flux, brushes, solder etc that I got from Harbor Frieght. I grabbed it by accident. It didn't work nearly as well as the vampire sucker.Dug up my vampire, and threw that otherone in the trash.I'm a bit clumsy so I've accidently pressed the nozzle against the iron itself. I've yet to melt that sucker - it can take some heat from clumsy folks like me. I heard about these on a message board and there were a few folks on there really praising it. Went and bought one right then.Never been sorry and IF this one ever breaks I will buy another without hesitation. Won't do a de-soldering job without it OR ever go back to that braided copper wick stuff again OR use another brand of these.

Small, very well built tool is the best solder sucker I’ve used. Worth every penny.
The tubing supplied is unaffected by even an 800°F soldering iron tip. It takes a little practice using this after the hard plastic tipped ones which are quite useless by comparison. Use of this tool has never caused any damage to the PCB traces or fiberglas medium. Much less heat can be used to achieve a much better result.Worth every penny. However, it should ship with a number of clear flexi nozzles.

It sucks!
Boy does this thing suck! And by suck I mean it works fantastic. I had only used cheap knock off suckers before I tried this one, and it really does work well. The inclusion of the silicon tip that is replaceable (and it comes with extras!) that makes a seal around the area to be sucked makes all the difference, along with its super strong action. This will be the only sucker I use from now on out.

Well built
After getting tired of going through solder suckers frequently I thought I'd try a nice one. The Vampire is beautifully built and feels great in my hand. It looks like it will last far longer than the cheap aluminum ones. I like the flexible silicone tip as I can get better contact with the solder pad.Now for the cons so far: I had trouble depressing the plunger with one hand and after releasing it. I had to use two hands to get it back down. The spring is quite stiff and couldn't get it back down every time. The nozzle clogged up most uses and had to use my other hand to force the plug out. To be fair, I was working on lead-free solder which gets very hard immediately after melting. This stuff is a pain to work with, at least with my set up. With regular 60/40 solder it worked much better. although my hand hasn't gotten used to it yet.It does have a nice solid feel in my hand and I look forward to having a better tool to use.All in all a great piece of kit*** AMENDED REVIEW *** Got a chance to actually use the Vampire under normal conditions (regular rosin core solder). Works great. removes an eyelet of solder the first time and clears out much easier, ie with my thumb. The spring is a little stiff, but that's what makes it suck better. Anyway, works fab on normal solder and should probably use a rework station for lead-free solder.

Great for when you screw up
This thing sucks, well in a good way that is. I have used only the cheap solder suckers in the past but decided to spend some money and get a good one, and so far, I have not been disappointed. I even look forward to making a mistake so I can use this bad boy. Well maybe not. This is not a tool that I want to use, but with my current soldering skills, it is good to have one that is reliable and works well.

A big improvement over ones I have used for decades.
There are three main things I like about this tool...its compact size, the silicone tip, and the strong and quick suction. I have used the longer and heavier devices for decades, and they do work, but this one works a lot better. It is small enough to easily fit my small hands and allow one handed operation. The piston is light enough to move quickly without a lot of kick back. The silicone tip is flexible enough to make a good seal over a small soldering iron tip so it completely clears through-holes. The build quality and materials make it just work.

Best pump ever
This pump single-handedly saved me HOURS of work. Was using a cheap one first and couldn’t get solder out. Swapped for this one and instantly my work was done. Don’t use anything else. This is absolutely worth the extra $10
