Melatonin is a hormone released by the pineal gland. Supplement Facts: Serving Size: 1 Melatonin capsule Servings Per Bottle: 60 Amount Per Serving: Calcium - 42 mg - 4% Daily value Melatonin 3 mg * Suggested Use: 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 or a full melatonin capsule half an hour to four hours before bedtime on an empty stomach. There is a wide variation in peoples' dosage requirement and ideal timing. Best if used only a few times a week or month as opposed to nightly use.. * Melatonin supplement daily value not established Caution: Do not drive or operate machinery immediately following use of melatonin supplements. May cause nightmares in high doses. Use only at bedtime. For adult use only. Not for children, teenagers, pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you are under medical supervision, or have an autoimmune disease, a depressive disorder, epilepsy, leukemia, or a lymphoproliferative disorder, consult with your physician before taking this product. Melatonin side effects, melatonin in children Common melatonin side effects include enhanced dreams, better dream recall, possible nightmares, mild next morning grogginess, and mild morning fatigue. These melatonin side effects are dosage dependent. The higher the melatonin dosage, the more likely side effects would occur. These melatonin side effects can occur in children. Long term melatonin side effects are not well understood. You may wish to limit your melatonin use to no more than 2 or 3 times a week. Children should preferably take less than 1 mg of melatonin and no more than twice a week. We have one mg melatonin supplement available and children could take a quarter, third, or half of this 1 mg melatonin supplement. Other Ingredients:Gelatin, Cellulose, and magnesium stearate.
