In fact, it does contain all books
Firstly, I made this purchase knowing there might be two novels missing. Guess what? They ARE there! ALL 9 BOOKS! Either way, I would have been happy given the ultra low price.Secondly, you only pay 0.69c (or less if you're in the US) so if this is such a first world problem for some, giving this product a 1 star review for 7 books instead of 9, then I pity your outlook on the rest of life. Are we really so entitled that we are outraged or 'very angry' about the 'fraud' as one reviewer put it when we don't get exactly what we want. And no, it's not the principle of it, you paid less than a dollar so get over it and appreciate what you DO have!

The evolution of a master
It would be an act of supreme hubris for me to even consider criticizing a great like Austen. I will say that this volume provides great insight into Austen's development as a writer. While the "Juvenalia" are fragments and amusing in their naivete, we see the beginnings of Austen's critical and satirical eye. We are then treated to her complete works, which I reproach myself for not having read sooner.New to Austen or familiar, this is a delightful compilation.

Only One Of the Best Writers Ever Born
It's Jane! I discovered her when I was in eighth grade when I chose Pride and Prejudice from the Scholastic Book Club choices for the month. Ever since then, I have read and reread all her books. I love her dry humor, her razor wit, her way of seeing the fakery, the pretentiousness, the snobbery in some of the people around her. It's fun to think of this quiet little woman listening to conversations and using what she learned about people to skewer their worst traits by creating detestable characters to demonstrate how low some people can be. Instead of a mean spirited tone, Jane keeps her satire humorous and while we are disliking some of her characters, we can laugh at them, too. Somehow, she lived her life in a society that valued money, titles, and the esteem of others above kindness, generosity, goodness, and love, yet she didn't become like the others. She lived by her values and held to the core of who she was. Her books treat the subjects of good versus evil but never let her readers give up hope that the good people will at least find each other and commiserate about the shallow people around them. Maybe the incandescent romances in her books keep the flame of hope alive?

Where Elinor, Elizabeth, and Fanny meet Emma, Anne, and Catherine
This volume provides an inexpensive way to follow Jane Austen's work from beginning to end--if you have 43 hours to spend reading it.Reading all the novels in order reminded me why Mansfield Park is my least favorite, due to the pious and self-righteous hero and heroine, as well as why Northanger Abbey is so humorous, in spite of its 17-year-old, very immature heroine. And also why Pride and Prejudice is my all-time favorite, with its many well-drawn characters and engaging story arc.I always notice something new when re-reading Austen. This time it was General Tilney in Northanger Abbey. He reminded me of my late father-in-law, another authoritarian force to be reckoned with. My husband and I even called him "the general" when we mentioned him to each other. He was not a military man, but his ramrod posture and the way he commanded the family made him seem like one. I loved the old curmudgeon. He never chucked me into a stagecoach at dawn to get rid of me, but I'm sure there were times he wished he could.

Nice collection
Still reading this but it looks intact and no issues with translating from book to digital.

Kindle version vs paperback?....Get Kindle version
This isn’t really a book you can snuggle up with. I have a pen in the photo for size reference. This physical copy makes me feel like I’m in an English Lit class. The print and font on the pages are more like I went down to Office Depot and had them bind the collection together for me. The pages are good for highlighting and making notations. I just wanted a nice collection of Austen novels to read in bed or on the couch. This copy has the appearance of a school textbook.

Fits my appreciation of her works
Yes sometimes confusing, but the very small details of thoughts and visions of fantasy and reality in Austin's mind and descriptions are exquisite. I love her works and am humbled by her talent.

Everyone should read Jane Austen
This would have a 5 star but the proofreading is not always perfect. Still it is a great collection.
