SX Smart Trim Tabs

A must for any Bayliner 16ft boat. When I was doing research on smart tabs for my boat I was going off reviews and what little information I could find. It was this or the hydro foil. I opted for the smart tabs. When the boat was loaded up I had a hard time getting the boat to plane. It took forever and eternity and even when it got to plane it still struggled. I was feeling like I had made a mistake of getting the boat period. So I ordered these smart tabs and installed them myself. Talk about night and day. I was able to plane almost instantly out the hole. I lost about 2 mph but the ride became so much more pleasant and cruising speed was easier to achieve. My boat is a bayliner f16 with the CT 60 hp. If you are on the fence or looking to make your element model boats perform 90 percent better get these smart tabs.

These were very simple to install but ensure you use masking tape on the hull before you drill the mounting holes. This will keep the gel coat from chipping or cracking. I initially set them on the middle setting (position 3) on a 16.5 foot speed boat. They work incredibly well and possibly a little too well. The boat would get up on plane almost immediately and allows you to cut the throttle way back and still keep it on plane. Before these smart tabs, my boat would fall off plane and then would porpoise until I got over 30 mph... now it's amazing how much better the ride and ease of handling is increased. I am going to try the tabs at the lowest setting (position 1) this weekend because at WOT the boat REALLY had a lot of Bow Steer over 40 mph. Overall I am very impressed with this product.

This is a great product; totally corrected my problems. Can't say enough about the product support. A first, boat was not planning out as well as I'd hoped; I called customer support and they swapped out my "shocks" for heavier ones at no cost, no questions. In the end, they got it right. If you are unhappy with how your boat rides, comes out of the hole, or speed at which it will stay on plane ,stop dealing with it and get these, you've got nothing to loose.

I have a 2011 19.5 ft. Stingray; this helps plane and porpoising problems tremendously.

HUGE difference in time to get on plane and incredible difference in lessened bow rise, especially at lower speeds. Put these on my 18' Starcraft Aluminum Superfisherman (fish and ski style full windshield boat) in under 30 minutes and they are awesome...everything they claim to be.
