I recently added a pre-workout shake to my regimen, but I had a lot of trouble finding one I liked for many reasons:1. Ineffective ingredients (which can be either useless or harmful)2. Inadequate or excessive amounts of the ingredients which are actually evidence based to provide you benefits. A pre-workout shake should not be one-size-fits-all.3. CAFFEINE! (and other stimulants) - I know it is effective at giving you a boost, but I workout at night within a few hours of sleeping...4. Price - 30 servings for like $50? By ordering four of the most scientifically proven pre-workout supplements in bulk, I saved money and have more control over what I am putting in my body and in what amounts. I ordered the following four products for my pre-workout:Beta AlanineCreatine MonohydrateBCAAsL-CitrullineBulkSupplements has a huge variety of products available at ridiculously good prices with a huge number of serving sizes. Instead of dropping $50 for about 30 servings, I have hundreds of servings for about the same price. I have used the above four ingredients mixed with a bit of water about 10 times now. Some observations:PROS- They WORK! There is a noticeable difference in my workouts. I feel more energized (and less lethargic mid-set), I have more power behind each rep, and I am seeing results a lot faster.- They take about 15-30 minutes to "kick in" depending on how big/recent my last meal was.- I am able to experiment with proportions of each ingredient to find the best fit for me.- As I have a chance to do more research I will be able to add new products to my regimen easily since I can buy each one individually.- Most importantly, I love that I have these ingredients as separate packages! This enables me to use each ingredient for multiple purposes (like using the BCAAs in both my pre-workout and my post-workout; allowing me to saturate with higher doses of creatine before I go down to a maintenance level, etc.)CONS- Taste and appearance. Yeah, pre-mixed pre-workouts probably taste better and look like a fancy sports drink because they are filled with Xylitol and Yellow-80, so my mixture of 4 ingredients plus a little water leaves me gagging over the sink trying to choke it down. But I kind of expected that. You may be able to mix this with orange juice or something to make it less awful?- Packaging. No scoops and the zip lock is kind of hard to close. Also, the bags are pretty inflexible, so I have to shove them down into the drawer I store them in.

Halved My Recovery Times
I've been using this supplement for almost a month now, and I can now say I've had it long enough to leave an efficient review.For those who don't know, citrulline is an alpha-amino acid byproduct of enzymes that act on arginine (another amino acid). These reactions essentially release nitric oxide (NO) into the body, which relaxes and dilates smooth muscle, allowing increased blood flow. Smooth muscle lines the blood vessels as well as the gastrointestinal tract. I write this as I've heard few people complain of diarrhea or GI upset after using citrulline. In such cases, I would recommend reducing the dose. In my experience with this product, I have experienced ZERO GI issues. No diarrhea, no cramps, no pain, and no change to my routine restroom use.I've used NO-boosting products before, such as Nitrix. As for citrulline, I take 3 g (1-rounded teaspoon) before my workout and another 3 g immediately after my workout. It's very convenient. I can honestly say that this product has more than halved my recovery time. The extra circulation reduces rest periods and vastly shortens recovery periods. I have chronic back problems as well (degenerative), that seem to alleviate with activity. So, I am very grateful for the shortened recovery times. More activity for me equates to less back pain.As far as the sacred "pump" goes, never fear. This product will get you there and then some. I've taken arginine pre-workout, and felt only mild-to-moderate effects. Citrulline Malate is the way to go. The pump is much more intense. You can push yourself harder. I've noticed more solid musculature after a workout. I've been able to push myself so hard in workouts while using this product that I "feel" the muscle is failing because it's packed with blood. You really have to experience this product. When taken responsibly as part of a balanced diet and regular activity, you will enjoy benefits from it. I can give this product my highest recommendation.There is only one minute negative, and that's the taste it adds to my post-workout shake. It adds a bitter taste. This is probably my fault, because I don't experience this when it's added to my pre-workout shake. If flavor is important to you, I would recommend mixing it with just water or trying other things like juices. I don't really care about taste. I chug my pre- and post-workout shakes regardless, so I didn't even notice it until the second or third time. I'm not in this for flavor, I'm in this for results. As such, I will be a regular consumer of this product. I can't imagine wasting time in the gym without this in my supplement regime.TL;DRI've been in the gym non-stop. Hungry for more. I've been to the gym six days this week, having done chest, biceps, shoulders, triceps TWICE; legs, and back. I get through workouts twice as fast and recover twice as fast.
