Mr. PenManual Pencil Sharpener for Desk, Colored Pencils, Kids, Handheld Use

This is my 1st Amazon review after many years of ordering and one of the best purchases I’ve made. All other sharpeners have broken within the first week and the electric ones in my classroom just eat the pencils up. This works quickly and makes the sharpest points without even having to hold the pencil. The students enjoy using it and want to take turns sharpening everything. Easy set, clean, and use!! Great all around.

I have to say that for this price point, this is an excellent pencil sharpener. It sharpens the pencil really well with only 1 or 2 cranks. At this price point, you can't ask for much but it does do a fabulous job. Sadly I do need to return this as I had bought this for my kindergarten boys. The design is not meant for kids and there is no possible way they would be able to use this. There is a safey lock that you have to push to stick a pencil in. none of the boys have the strength to push that button. and the cranking is not smooth. They don't have the strength to turn the crank. Thus it will not serve the purpose of young kids. It's perfectly fine for adults.

Good quality and easy to use

I ordered this sharpener hoping it would work its a cute simple design and I liked that it has a sharpener shaving tray. Unfortunately this pencil sharpener did not work it barely sharpened my pencils the sharpener part also felt very flimsy and loose you have to apply a lot of pressure to the pencil in order to get it to sharpen.

I bought this to have an extra sharpener in my classroom that would be quiet and kid friendly. To be honest, I was disappointed when I got it. I thought “these 2nd graders will never figure out how to use this!” And, I’m not a huge fan of the mechanism to attach it to a desk or table. It never really stayed tight, for me.BUT, after using it a few times myself, I realized this was going to be a game changer for the colored pencils I use to doodle, color, etc. I can carry this thing with me anywhere! The shavings don’t fall out unless I pull the drawer out. And I can sharpen my pencils without needing to hold the pencil in place. One hand cranks. The other hand holds the sharpener. No need to anchor it down to free up that hand! Because the sharpener itself “grabs” hold of the pencil unless you release it or it is the sharpest it can get. I highly recommended this product!!

Works well. I can't speak for durability as I haven't used it all that much, but I can say it grinds a very nice point on my pencils.

I am sorry but I was not a big fan of this. I usually like MR.PEN products but this one, not so much. First off it reminded me of the original pencil sharpeners we had in grade school that was bolted to the back table. But sadly this one just flew all over the place. Then to empty it to put the Sharpener together again you needed to have gone to MIT and had a degree in engineering. Not even my husband who can put anything together could get this figured out. I think a part may have been possibly missing because it didn’t sharpen my pencil, it just ate it. Literally. So I did end up being frustrated enough and unhappy with this enough to return it for something else. Yes another pencil sharpeners but a different brand.

The product worked for some of the pencils but not all. I thought there was something about how I inserted it but the success of sharpening is not consistent. Glad im able to get a refund for this. Not something I would recommend to get.
