My cat uses it every day & really enjoys the design features.
It took my young, indoor cat a week or two to lose her suspicion of this new item but now she LOVES it. She used every angle of it for scratching, stretching, playing and sometimes just relaxing in the middle. It has some kind of catnip soaked right in and she rubs her cheek, chin and forehead all over every surface of it. She's even made up new kitteh games to play and taught us the rules. She likes us to put her toys on top and wait for her to stalk them, hunt them and eventually kill them by knocking them down. We humans must "reset the pins" as in bowling. This Scratcher is very well-built and should last a good long time. It's more a piece of furniture! When our cat uses up the two sides that are currently facing up, we can just flip over to the bottom and she has a whole new surface to shred to bits! This is a small business, and I hope the continue to gently expand their product line. I plan to purchase another of their products soon, the curvy one, The PetFusion Ultimate Cat Scratcher Lounge. [Superior Cardboard & Construction]. Beware of cheaper copycats' with 'unverified' reviews My cat is a long kitty, if you know what I mean and so we bought the Large size. When we first saw it out of the box, I thought I'd made a mistake but she REALLY loves the size. She can sink her front claws into the top and do a real seemingly pleasurably lumbar stretch. She'll even move side to side, like she's working her obliques! She loves her new Scratching post and Kitteh-Kat Pilates machine. She also likes to walk through the opening in the middle or toss her toys in the middle. She's going to get a few years out of this for sure. Update august 2022: as a matter of fact, she got several years out of this but so loved her other Loungers that she stopped paying attention to this one. We gave it to a Multi-cat household a couple of years ago and those kitties are giving the thing a serious workout. It's very sturdy. SO far, none of the cats have managed to strip the Triangle scratcher of all its cardboard scratching surface. when we had it, we just rotated the surface every few months so no one side took a beating. In the time we have had this product, we have bought 4 more of the large loungers as gifts for other households with multiple cats and those cats use the long, larger lounger as what I call a "Double-Decker Nap Mo-Sheen" LOL. Those cats enjoy sleeping on it as if it were a bunk bed. One household still has the original 2 I bought and the other households still have their originals too. If there is any downside, and this isn't much of one - it is the fact that you may need to sweep a little more often or use a handheld duster-buster type vacuum every two or 3 days to suck up all the itty bitty pieces of cardboard the cats make from digging their claws deep into the surface. when one side gets a good workout, we flip it over and let the cat have at the other side. Our cat doesn't care to sleep or scratch in the underneath of the big lounger and so we store old newspapers there for a week until recycling time comes around. In the other households with more than one cat, the cats love the underside of the "bunk" for sleeping. So just keep the scratching bits up off the floor and you'll be a happy cat parent cuz it helps prevent them from scratching furniture legs, couches and so forth. Although we don't have to do it very often, we occasionally "recharge" all 3 of these scratcher products by rubbing a little fresh, organic catnip into the surface. It helps keep the cat interested in the scratcher/lounger and we can sometimes rub it in an area she hasn't been paying equal attention to with her claws. This will usually encourage her to have at the unused area with her sharp claws and help dull them. These are wonderful products from a wonderful company. The scratchers are long-lasting pieces of furniture. we only ever had one wear out and we sawed it in half and placed the half pieces elsewhere in the house where our cat found them and loved the easy access to a new scratching surface. She's a tall cat and a long cat, so maybe she just didn't feel like squeezing under there to rip up the interior. we just used a hacksaw and it created a whole new toy for her. we love these things. It makes the perfect gift for a home with a new kitten or a loved one who has a cat who is bored with their current playthings.

My cats LOVE PetFusion scratchers
My cats love their Pet Fusion scratcher shaped like an infinity symbol, but still scratched at the tall bar chairs and couch. I decided to add this vertical scratcher to my home in hopes that they'll stretch/scratch at this instead of the furniture. PROS: Both cats took to this immediately without coaxing Attractive design Durable Doubles for play time (Kitties were jumping through the hole) CONS: Slides on hardwood floors, even with the rubber stickers they give you for the bottom (I just got a cheap rubber mat for underneath) Wish this came in the dark brown color like my other Pet Fusion scratcher [SEE UPDATE BELOW] Size is okay, but would love for it to be even taller so my cats get a full stretch [SEE UPDATE BELOW] My cats still scratch at the furniture, but much less so. I think my cats would stop completely if Pet Fusion made one of those standard tall scratching posts in this material. UPDATE 08/24/2016: I'm updating my review from 4 to 5 stars. Pet Fusion now makes this in a larger version, and in a darker brown. It's great to have options!! I have the taller one and bought a replacement for this smaller one so that my two kitties can alternate as they please. These really do last a very long time. Originally I was annoyed at them sliding a bit, but the cats actually turn that into a game. It's kind of fun to see where the scratchers end up in the morning. One cat also loves sliding a hair tie back and forth under the scratcher. (The sides of the triangle curve in a bit to allow this.) It's awesome that the scratchers double as an entertainment center.

Review of Large Size 3-sided: Very Good
Dimensions of large size 3-sided: 10.5" Thick, 24" wide (across each of 3 sides), 21" Tall Dimensions of inside triangular "hole": 16" across each of 3 sides, 13" tall. I bought the large size since I thought it would be best for our cat to be able to play on the inside of the "hole". Any cat can easily fit inside this "hole", no matter how big the cat. I am not sure about the dimensions of the smaller sized 3-sided. But, the large size has proven to be a favorite play-space for our cat. It is an interactive toy in the sense that our cat will go inside the hole and "attack" a finger that is peeking in from outside the hole. This game can go on for a very long time. The outside surface has also gotten some use and has distracted our cat from scratching on other furniture to some extent. I still will have to put sticky-tape on the chairs to prevent furniture scratching. So, that will be done soon. The unit is very sturdy, not easily turned over since it is 10.5" thick. The only negative is that this unit is so expensive! About $50 for a glued cardboard thing. Cardboard is actually expensive -- as you will see if you go to buy cardboard boxes. But, still, $50+ is sort of crazy. In any case, the 3-sided large version is very well-liked by our cat. There are some less expensive versions of this item available on Amazon -- and they may work just as well. But, the dimensions may be smaller. These alternatives are worth checking out, though.

My cats like it; I wish the cardboard grain direction was better thought out
I like this scratcher; not only is it visually pleasing, but as many reviewers have noted, it has greatly reduced my cats' urges to shred my linen recliner. I have purchased many scratchers and I have found for my two cats that rope/hemp/straw scratchers are absolutely worthless. They won't go near them. I purchased some carpet ones as well, but they didn't seem to like them either (although they enjoy pulling at my carpet). I finally purchased some horizontal cardboard ones, and that helped reduce their urge to pull at my carpet, but they continued to pull at my recliner. I knew it was because it satisfied their vertical stretching/scratching urges, so I tried to make a vertical scratcher from my cardboard rectangles, but the cats easily pulled them down. I finally found this one. Although it is a little expensive (and a little late as my recliner is pretty well destroyed), it is saving me money in that the cats have nearly completely stopped using the recliner and instead use this triangle for their scratching needs. I did want to note a few things: first, my cats wont go near the inside of the triangle, so this part is useless to me. I'm sure that's not the case for other reviewers, and this is a minor thing, I just wanted to note it. Second, an annoying, but unavoidable side effect of getting much use is that this sheds cardboard pieces like crazy, and the cats drag them all over the living room. Again, a minor, unavoidable effect; harmless and nothing the vacuum can't handle. And third, and the reason why I took a star away, is because the way this triangle is made, you can indeed flip it so that your cats have fresh areas to shred (mine pretty much only shred the top half of the triangle so you can flip it and use the other end), but the direction of the cardboard on some of the sides is less "satisfying?" for my cats. When the cardboard grain is facing upward, they love shredding it, but when the triangle is flipped and the grain is pointing downward, they find it far less useful. I assume because instead of their nails catching on the grain, they kind of slide down. I don't know if that makes any sense, and maybe this is just an issue for my cats, but my cats pretty much only got good use out of two areas, when if flipped as much as possible, I should get a total of 6 scratching areas. My cat's haven't gone back to the recliner, but I have seen them going back to the horizontal cardboard one. I'm afraid that if I don't get a new vertical scratcher soon, they will go back to the bad habit of using my linen recliner. As I said, the chair is already in pretty bad shape, but I had plans to get a new one once I figured out a way to get them to stop shredding it, so I don't want them to start back up. All in all, I'd recommend this; the cats like it, it saves furniture and it's modern design makes me feel like less of a crazy cat lady.

Saved my furniture! Cat loves it! My first one lasted for four months!
EDIT: I just bought my second PetFusion 3-Sided Scratching Post to replace the first one. The first one lasted me four months with one cat using it every day, multiple times a day. He loves that thing. It still has a little bit of life left but he's starting to take interest in my couch again so it's time for a replacement. He doesn't ever claw my furniture when he's got a nice spot on his triangle. Short review: Love it, definitely recommend it and will definitely be buying another in the distant future when my cat scratches this one all up. Detailed review: I'd been having problems with my cat clawing on my furniture and carpets and wasn't sure how to solve the problem. He had a sisal and a fabric scratcher but did not seem to want to use either of those and preferred everything I didn't want him to scratch on. I got him this as his Christmas present and frankly, I don't think I could be more pleased. He immediately stopped scratching my furniture all-together, and he uses it every day. I had a few concerns when I first purchased and this is how they turned out: 1. They offer two sizes. Is the regular going to be tall enough for my on-the-large-side domestic? I trusted the reviews and went with the regular size and it was a good decision. Great height for my cat to stretch his back the way he likes and really get a deep, spirit-rejuvenating scratch. At least that's the way he sees it. If you have a very large breed, like Maine Coons, who like to stretch when they scratch I think I would recommend opting for the Large. 2. The cardboard isn't replaceable and I have used plenty of $9 cardboard insert scratchers, so I was concerned about longevity. Granted, I have only had this for a week and a half, however I'm confident about its lifespan. The cardboard is visibly higher quality than the standard pet store stuff. You've got six different places for your cat to scratch (the inside counts! my cat does use the inside, esp when he's playing) all you have to do is rotate once your cat has ripped up one side. I have also noticed that my guy only scratches heavily on the top of the outside so I can just flip the same-side upside down and get more use out of it. The design of this scratcher works really well. 3. Worth the money? This one's easy - yes. It's not heavy at all, very easy to lift and move around but since it's light, if you have wood floors it may slide a little when your cat uses it but they sent some rubber floor stoppers that just stick on whatever side is currently the bottom and they work great. They also included a small bag of catnip, I assume to attract your cat to the scratcher if they're feeling shy but it was just a bonus holiday present for my kitty because he scratched on his triangle the moment I put it down. The only complaint I really have is that my scratching post arrived with the cardboard damaged on one side, pushed in like it had been dropped on something or vice versa. Makes a good chunk of that side unscratchable so I lost some value there.

No more couch scratching!
I've gone through many different cats scratchers over the years, all with their pros and their cons. I chose this one because I was looking for something large, durable, and vertical/triangle-shaped. I'm currently staying in a furnished rental and want to prevent my cats from scratching the furniture. Slid this baby up next to the arm of the couch, and boom - my cats scratch this instead of couch. It doesn't move or tip over like cheaper options, which makes it so much easier for the cats to use. It does start wearing down over some time, which is to be expected. This happened with my cat scratch lounger from PetFusion (which my cats are also OBSESSED with). Depending on the number of cats using it and frequency of use, I've learned that PetFusion scratchers generally lass about 6 months to a year before before becoming rundown and start shedding all over the place. Overall, super happy with my purchase. It's a solid, modern-looking cat scratcher that will get plenty of use. Sure, it's spendy, but definitely a more sturdy and longer-lasting solution than cheaper alternatives. So far, my cats have loved the PetFusion products & I'm super happy with my purchase!

How Could a Billion Egyptians Be Wrong?
Cats were in Egypt. Egypt has pyramids. This thing looks like a pyramid. You follow me? Bring this baby home today and not only will you unlock the mysteries of Kah Mun Rah, but you'll keep your cats off your couch too. For years the wife and I suffered in silence as our felines disembowled any couch that crossed their path. In vain was the motley assortment of scratching posts and mystical deterrent brews I brought home. At last, I had had enough, and after a night of heavy milk-drinking and copious catnip huffing I found myself face-down in the litter-box of despair. But as my wife scooped the last of my clumped up tears from our cat's indoor outhouse, I decided to give Amazon a try. That's when I found this. Like the all-seeing eye on the back of the dollar bill, I could see that all other products were not only inferior to this, but like mere pyramid building slaves in comparison. I had to have it. And I did have it. And I do have it. And so should you. The cat immediately fell head over dew-claws in love with it. With 3 sides, she can scratch one for breakfast, one for lunch, and one for dinner. Every morning we roll a 3-sided die to see which side she'll start with. Sometimes she'll lay in the middle and close one eye. Oh yeah. We get it. It's crazy powerful. And crazy essential. Now whenever she tries to maul the couch, we just give her a little wink and she remembers...the power, the mystery, the intensity of this all-seeing scratching post. How was this thing made?! Was it UFO's? Was it some sort of alien technology? Was it demons? Perhaps we'll never know. BUT KNOW THIS: this thing works. Seriously. The cat loves it.

Needs better quality check, only 1 side works. Refund requested
My cat already owns a Pet Fusion horizontal scratcher, but I wanted to buy something vertical as he recently has started standing and scratching my couch. He’s a big cat so I had to buy the biggest scratcher triangle, and after spending almost $60 on this one, he can only use one side. I am super disappointed in this triangle as I buy him the Pet Fusion horizontal scratchers multiple times a year, and they’re always great quality. There’s something off about the direction of this product’s cardboard. It looks like the cats claws would scratch in the same direction of the corrugated pieces. This would do nothing for their claws and if anything, may give them cardboard paper cuts on their paws :/ It didn’t look like it upon first glance, but if you actually touch the cardboard and look closer, you can see that cat claws wouldn’t catch like they should in order to sharpen their claws. This triangle was such a great idea but the quality is not worth the money! I bought it so I could use all 3 sides. I will be asking for a refund and continue looking for something else that will work for my cat. I do like Pet Fusion products though and hope they will see this feedback and improve this product’s quality. If they do, I would buy it.
