better than my non-steel toes!
These are a worthwhile investment. I really don't like safety toe shoes in general and was pleasantly surprised by these boots. Not only are they comfortable, they are lightweight. They do not feel heavy and clunky like normal safety shoes. The leather is supple and flexible so there is no break-in time required. The soles have very good padding. All of my other boots required inserts but these have held up nicely with the stock insoles. Two other features that have been helpful are the height of the boot itself and size of toe box. These are available in wide widths which not only improves comfort, it allows me to get a shorter size making them fit better than getting a half size larger in regular width to achieve the necessary room for my duck shaped foot. I find the height of the boot to be better than most for my ankles. Some boots seem to be too high and rub the sides of my lower leg which quickly becomes uncomfortable. After many miles and long days in the ship yard, these have proven to be the most comfortable safety boots I have ever worn. I recommend them to anyone needing high quality boots at a reasonable price.

Very Durable!
UPDATE - 20 Apr 2024 - These boots are STILL functioning well!############19 Feb 2021After using these boots for 2-1/2 years I'm now comfortable providing a review. While these have not been used in the harshest environment (oil field, construction, etc.) they have been used frequently in light construction, landscaping and urban hiking (dog walking) in rain, snow and mud.Compared to other boots I have owned recently, these earn a high rating for durability. The soles have not worn excessively even with a lot of walking on concrete, asphalt or gravel. Solid enough to wear well but soft enough to grip and be comfortable. My recall is that the fit was quite well right out of the box. My foot geometry has a narrow heel so EVERY boot requires me to make some minor adjustment with lacing, socks, etc. The lace-to-toe feature seems to add to that stability by securing the boot at the ball of my foot to minimize slippage front to back. Other than my odd heels the overall fit is great with enough room in the toe box and a snug grip around the arch and ankle. No noticeable deterioration in the uppers at this time. Overall stitching, eyelets, hooks, leather and sole bonding is like new. NOTE TO TIMBERLINE: The upper hooks could be a bit larger as the laces are barely covered by the hook. This results in the lace popping out of the hook unless tension is provided at the perfect angle when tying. Once they're properly tied it is a secure fit.Overall I would recommend these boots based on durability, fit and value and would definitely by another pair. Not needing replacement now (and no longer needing this type of boot) I'll continue to use these for multiple uses as they are versatile enough for many applications.

I will always buy these boots...even if the last pair isn't worn out yet!!!
This is my second pair of this boot and I really like them for ALL day comfort and protection. I work for an electric utility so my boots have to be EH "Electrical Hazard" rated and have toe protection, while meeting the ANSI standards, and these boots do all of that. Very comfortable, nice looking, tough soles and uppers, good strong laces, tongue stays in-place, good traction on wet surfaces including snow, rain, mud, etc. don't seem to harbor smells and other unpleasantness...what more could you want? Why is this my second pair? Well, my first pair, which are year old, aren't worn out or even close to that, but these were on sale for 25% off, which made them roughly $86 and I just couldn't pass that deal up. So I'm saving them for time in the future. By the way, if you want to make your boots uber waterproof, apply mink oil to them quarterly, or as often as your use dictates. It will darken the color of the leather but it's a small price to pay for dry feet!

Good boots
After I bought my first pair of Timberland Pro 50506 boots years ago I haven't had a reason to go look at other brands since. They wear well in a heavy duty truck repair shop. They last me about two years which is pretty good for the environment that I use them in. They are out of the box comfortable and need very little break in. They keep my feet warm in the winter and not too hot in the summer. I had to replace my old pair because I had worn a hole in the end of the toe box from having to kneel on cement from time to time. The boot tread wears very well. I have never worn the tread out. My company furnishes boots for us but they are not the quality that these are and I choose to buy my own instead. I would give them 5 stars for sure except that the last two pairs I have gotten have not been quite as comfortable out of the box as they used to be. Timberland Pro must have changed something. I'm still keeping these my go to boots for work though.

Sturdy and comfortable
I bought the Wide size and it feels great.I dont have wide feet, but have neuropathy, so need a loose fitting boot, but not huge! Boot doesn't look like a wide, but is slightly wider than standard. Perfect for me!Ankles are supported, but cushioned, not stiff.Steel toes do not weight the boot down.No break in period. I've had for 2 months and wear almost every day. Solid boot!

Most comfortable boots ever!
I work for a railroad, so I'm VERY tough on boots. These are both durable, but more importantly the MOST comfortable boots I've ever worn. I walk on ballast (large stones) all day long and these boots have SAVED my feet! I'll buy these every single time from here on out!

Solid pair of boots
I’ve been wearing these boots on the daily for two years. The soles are still seamlessly attached all the way around both boots, there is still plenty of tread left, and the area in the crease of the bend point on top of the boots is not showing signs of a hole forming. Also they would probably look a lot better if I kept up with conditioning and polishing the leather.
