Terrible documentation. The manufacturer and Amazon completely fail to explain this product is a "universal cable" for use by _one_ _console_ _at_ _a_ _time_ _only_. This cable isn't made to switch between different game consoles. If that is what you want, you should buy a video switch for composite video signals, which costs $30-$50 or more.The little slider switch on this cable simply selects the type of TV you have connected to the cable. It affects which video signal wires pass through to the TV. Most of the video and audio wires from _each_ _console_ are joined together at the cable junction, so if you plug more than one console into the cable at one time, you are shorting your electrical signals between those consoles. This could eventually damage at least one of the consoles.So, with this cable, you pick which console to connect. I have two of these cables for a Wii and a PS2 (one cable each!), and they work flawlessly with my HDTV, after I noticed the slider switch.

im kinda on the fence about this 1, it was only about $10 so not like i got screwed big time. ok, so let me just start from the beginning, i have a 22' Enhanced definition TV for my bedroom. so its not one of the bix box ones but its not HD. so no HDMI. i have a ps3 and a wii..i was using the regular red white yellow cables for them. it was kinda difficult to see what was goin on in GTA and black ops for ps3, becuz everything just blended in and was sort of fuzzy. so i originally bought this for picture quality. and it works for that. so im glad i bought this. BUT it doesnt work with the wii, i plugged them both in and right as i turned my ps3 off i wanted to see if it worked for the wii, so i turn the wii on and nothing. so i use the regular cords for the wii. its really not that big of deal and like i said im glad i bought i bought it because theres a noticably better picture.. but i just wish it worked for both.

This product has great intentions behind it, but it does not work well. This is the second one of these cables that I have gotten and it still didn't work. The first cable I bought, the connector for the PS2 worked great, but the Wii connector output black and white video and no audio. The second cable that I got, once again the PS2 connector worked great, but the Wii connector didn't work again. It output color video, but it still didn't output audio. I was really hoping that the second cable was going to work because I really liked the idea. I was highly disappointed and would not recommend purchasing this item.

The Mad Catz Universal HD Component cable works great for my PS2 and Wii (not at the same time). For PS2, Rockband and GH: World Tour look worlds better now on my HD LCD TV. For less than $13, it was definitely worth the money.Be advised that the cable only works with one console at a time. The packaging states so in the fine print. With both my systems plugged in at the same time, the PS2 works great, but no audio for the Wii.Remember to: Slide the switch from TV to HDTV, and to optimize your PS2 (turn on your PS2 without a disk).

I am not having the video/audio issues other (low) reviewers have experienced, in fact, the cable I received is nicely constructed and works fine.I would caution buyers that the three leads for the game consoles are short - about 7" long - so you can not space your consoles very far apart. The only way I could make it work was to stand all three consoles vertically and next to each other with several inches in between to ensure ventilation.

This product worked perfectly for my PS3 and Wii. Unfortunately you cannot have both plugged in at the same time so you still have to do some swapping.The reason I am rating this low is because the quality is bad. A little pin or something broke off inside the ps3 wire and i can no longer plug it into my ps3. The metal plug that goes into the ps3 is now loose and gets pushed down inside the plastic outer casing.Could be a flaw in just mine, but the having to swap could have easily caused this issue.In conclusion, works fine, until it breaks.

The only reason I bought this cable was because I'm still holding on to my old CRT tv and I had just purchased a Sony ps3 system to play SSF4 but the texts were somehow unreadable. So I thought why not get the component cables since they'll improve the picture quality for the time being and if I don't use it in the future I can re-sell it to someone who has a Nintendo Wii or is in a similar predicament. Component cables only carry video signals via the three colored cables and are one step below hdmi cables in terms of video picture evolution so when using you must connect the red and white cables for sound and leave the yellow one unconnected unless your TV is real real old and component cables don't apply. Hdmi cables carry both audio and video so it's a simple one cable connection.

When I tried the component cables I had to choose between black and white output on my Wii (the switch on this cable set to hdtv) or a very fuzzy color image (cable switch set to tv). Here's the fix:If you have a ps2 connect it at the same time as your wii. Next go into system configuration on your ps2 and set component video out to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr. At this point you'll see that the component cable works just fine. Make sure the switch on your component cable is set to hdtv. Next turn on your wii and then turn off your ps2. You can disconnect the ps2 now and this fix seems permanent. Good luck!4 stars to this product for having to put in research to make it work properly, although maybe part of the blame is Nintendo's

Ich habe das  Komponentenkabel  gekauft damit ich von meiner  Hauppauge HD PVR Personal HDTV Recorder  aufnehmen kann.Die Verarbeitung ist recht gut für diese Preisklasse.Die Videoqualität ist sehr gut für ein Komponentenkabel.Alles in allem für diesen Preis eine klare Kaufempfehlung KomponentenkabelHauppauge HD PVR Personal HDTV Recorder

Il cavo component Mad Catz e' un prodotto ben realizzato con caratteristiche di flessibilita' nell'impiego sconosciute alla concorrenza. Infatti funziona con ben 4 diverse console videogiochi (PS3, PS2, XBOX 360, Wii) e presenta pure un'uscita video aggiuntiva in videocomposito. La qualita' dei connettori e' soddisfacente ed il prezzo del prodotto e' nettamente inferiore a quanto offerto da Nintendo, Sony e Microsoft nel catalogo accessori originali. Personalmente lo utilizzo su console Wii in abbinamento con il convertitore da Component a HDMI della Kanaan e devo ammettere che la definizione video e' perfetta, la resa dei colori ottima e l'audio senza compromessi. Non vi e' assolutamente traccia di disturbi video / audio. In pratica il rapporto qualita' / prezzo del prodotto e' assolutamente favorevole. Prodotto veramente consigliabile e consegnato da Amazon nei tempi promessi.

Doesn't work for Ps2 although advertised on the package and cable. Barely fit in the plugin in the console.
