I had to write a review as there was some negative reviews on this tahini, mostly good, but a few negative. I use tahini for mostly hummus, but I have been making hummus for 30 years or more and I am picky about my tahini. I thought this had really good flavor, fresh sesame flavor, not the thickest, more on the runny side. But the flavor was exceptionally good - not weak in flavor at all. It is a smooth consistency and my hummus came out perfect. No hard cement on the bottom, just a quick stir and it was ready to use. The fact that it is organic is a huge plus. I will keep buying this for sure.

This is my second purchase. I love this tahini and the packaging is beautiful. I'm starting my own small business and will use this idea in my packaging. Somehow good packaging seems to upgrade the product. This will last me a while but I'll be purchasing this again.

These containers came “sealed” with thin plastic beneath the lid but, due to the oil content, they both loosened/opened and leaked in transit, soaking through the packing box. So, not airtight and a bit of a mess on arrival. The oil seepage made the plastic pull-tab sealing the lid slimy and very difficult to tear away. Just poor design all around. I ended up popping the intact lid off instead of wrestling that irritating strip off. Now I’ll just transfer the remaining contents (that which didn’t leak out already) to a reasonable, airtight, glass jar.With that poor introduction, I was skeptical about the tahini’s quality and freshness but, I was mistaken. It’s delicious!! I’m not a huge fan of tahini’s taste usually and even began soaking, toasting and grinding my own hulled sesame seeds- huge pain with soso results! I grew quickly tired of that exercise and ordered this brand on a calculated whim. Yum! Better than what I was making for not much more than I was spending on raw seeds.Hopefully the company will revisit its flawed packaging choices but, the product is worth the hassle; get some and see for yourself!

This tahini tastes much better than grocery ones. I would say it tastes like fresh made natural product. I do not know why it is darker. Maybe because grocery tahini has added color preservatives. But this one is my only tahini to by right now. Recomendacion

Before buying tahini for the first time, I made sure to look up things to look for in BAD tahini which is if it's bitter, if it's oily (which would indicate the freshness), if its pure sesame seed, and the color.That being said, this product is TOP-QUALITY Tahini. Upon first inspection, there is a distinct nutty smell, which smells amazing and the color is a light brown color, which is ideal in choosing quality tahini. When I tasted it, there wasn't any hint of bitterness, but a kind of peanut butter taste, but more nutty. The texture was SUPER SMOOTH, which is great to use in dressings. There's a little bit of oil separation but it's expected and not in excess.One of the things that convinced me to buy it was the fact that it was organic non-GMO and the only ingredient was 100% ORGANIC ETHIOPIAN SESAME SEEDS. From my research, Ethiopia is the GOLD STANDARD of sesame seeds because of its volcanic soil and sunny climate, it provides these white humera sesame that has a great nutty flavor.The size of the jar is a little small but it's definitely worth it because it will last a long time! Will definitely buy this brand again.

According to many chefs, tahini should be runny and smooth which this tahini is. I use it for hummus and various vegan sauces and it's absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend.

DO NOT BUY - I purchased two sets of two for a total of four and the safety seal on the top of each jar was popped.
