Bruder Toys 02428 JCB 4CX Loader Backhoe

We have four Bruder construction toys so this review is going to show up in all four places. These are all very well made, lots of details. They are made of plastic and of course could be broken but they were thoughtfully designed and are reasonably durable. The mirrors on the Mack dump truck are probably the weakest item, but if they were to break off the truck would be otherwise functional. Toys break. We took this as an opportunity to try to help our three year old grandson understand that a little care was required if he wanted these to last and he's responded well. So far, nothing's broken on any of them, despite hours of use. These all have so much intriguing detail that the kids are immediately drawn to them. We have about a hundred buckeye nuts for them to push around and load without making a difficult mess. They all have moving parts that allow them to perform their real world functions. There are detents built in to hold position, so for example with the bulldozer, backhoe and front loader, the blades can be fixed and held in several different positions. As far as toys go, these are a little pricey but even a three year old understands from the detail that these are different that the coarser, simpler $5 - $10 equivalents. These clearly look like the "real" things. We've all had a lot of fun with these. This was the first of the four Bruder construction toys we bought and likes so much that we added to the set. It's also probably the most easily broken, especially the detailed parts on the backhoe, but so far, despite some aggressive assaults, everything's held up and continues to delight the kids.

I purchased this as a gift for my son's 4th birthday. He is obsessed with all construction type machines, so I wanted to get him a vehicle with working parts and as much detail as possible to resemble the real thing. The levers and handles are easy for him to use and there are no batteries to replace and no screws to worry about losing or coming loose. Details you may not be able to see from the photos: dashboard impressions of gauges/buttons, steering wheel turns (but not connected to drive it), rubber tires (not stiff plastic) with Bruder and tire size shown on the outside, two pull down stablizers in the back and even the underside shows where the axels are with a clean thoughout look (no exposed metal rods/parts). The back hoe arm is removable, if you want to purchase additional accessories to go with it. The whole toy is made of a strong, quality plastic which will hold up to heavy use over the next few years. The prices are steep for Bruder toys, but the quality and details all line up with their price point.

These are a great line of toys. They hold up very well to the amount of abuse inflicted by my two and six year old boys. My two year old loves to sit on and ride the larger trucks as though he were driving them. The diggers also work surprisingly very well with hard compacted dirt as reflected in the many holes created in my front lawn. My four year old daughter also loves spending endless hours digging with her brothers and to tell the truth, it is good family fun for those of us who refuse to grow up. I plan to purchase many more in the future and with Bruder's large variety of construction, farming and services, imagination is limitless. An excellent investment!!!

I thought it would be made of even heavier grade plasstic, although it's still quite sturdy. A piece on the arm of the backhoe part came off, but I was able to snap it back on. It's fairly easy for my 3 year old to scoop dirt with the loader part. He has fun in the sandbox with it. The backhoe part comes all the way off, which I don't like because if one of the nubbins breaks, that part is worthless. Overall it's a pretty cool toy for a preschooler.

First viewed this line of product on Amazon, stepped out on faith that it was what it said. It is! Great toy, very real looking, my Grandson loves it! I am going to start purchasing him and my other grandsons these for a collection-- They are plastic not the Tonka metal, so I wondered, but it is a heavy plastic that seems very durable. I saw his Backhoe in their garden a few weeks after he received it, it looked in great shape, not a peice broken, very dusty after a days work but I was impressed in the condition, after several weeks of 3 year old dirt play!

The Bruder Trucks are my absolute favorite and we have 2 for my son (2 year old). I will warn you, though, if you're buying for someone under the age of 3 - you need to supervise their play with these trucks. My son plays very rough with these and can break off doors (they reattach easily) and some of the tiny pieces. It's not a problem with the truck - they clearly state that the age recommendation is 3+. They are very well made, and the plastic is high quality. A nice size, too! All the pieces move. Love love love these trucks and can't wait for my son to be able to really play with them properly!

My son has about 15 Bruder toys. Most of my family has bought him these trucks. They are amazing and beautiful. Solid construction and very realistic. My 4 year played with these and they suffered a little.... Now that he is 7, the trucks he's gotten recently (past year) are still perfect... The older ones have become outside toys which is probably not the intention since they are not holding up as well. These are superior to any plastic Tonka or other popular you brands of trucks. I am also grateful since the packaging is mostly frustration free.

I bought two of these for my nephews and they absolutely LOVE them! Bruder trucks are great quality, and are very resilient to hands-on, active kid play. My nephews are 2 and 3 years old and play fairly aggressively with their trucks, and these hold up quite well. And although the designs of the trucks are intricate, there aren't any small pieces that are likely to break off, so I don't have to worry about accidental swallowing. My family loves Bruder trucks!

I was sceptical before ordering it for my nephew as he is that kind of kid who rip apart everything in his way. I thought it won't last even a single day, just like other ones priced at 500 INR. But this product has proved me wrong. It's been one month and it is still intact, which is quite hard to grasp given that the kid(weighing around 15 KGs) sits on it all the time!

It is a nice toy for kids 3+ and my boy is really enjoying it in the sandy playground... it is can’t say heavy duty but relatively good plastic manufactured toy

This Bruder series of boys toys is great fun. I initially bought this as a one off for my grandson, but I was so impressed by the quality of build and accuracy to detail that I've decided to purchase others from this range. I closely inspected it for safety and even though my grandson has just turned four I had no misgivings regarding this aspect. I have bought a lot from Amazon over the years and I have never been let down by their highly competitive pricing. My boy will love this and I'm sure yours will too.

The best brand for kids that love trucks! So realistic and really great quality!!
