17-inches and 5-inches, respectively.

Q: How deep/accommodating are the pockets? Big enough for a larger smartphone to fit / not fall out every time you squat down (unzipped, of course)?

iPhone 8 fits ok. Whether it falls out will depend on your thighs so I’m hesitant to say. They aren’t the deepest pockets. In general I advise against swimming with your phone in your pocket.

Q: Does the front pocket fit a cell phone, ie Apple 11?

I have a Galaxy S22+ in a protective case and it fits in either the front open or zippered pocket. It is not ideal though, and I don't think it would be very comfortable, okay for short periods.
