I purchased this Perception kids paddle for my 8 year old daughter. It's shorter than most normal (adult) paddles, which makes it easier for kiddos to handle and maneuver. Plus it's smaller and light (under 2 lbs) for littler hands. The two piece system allows for easy storage as well. My only complaint is that when the paddle is assembled, there is some slight wiggle between the two pieces. It's not terribly noticeable, but I did notice it immediately. I still feel for the price point (~$40) of a child's paddle, it is still a good value. And my daughter is much happier with it than a larger, heavier paddle. So in my opinion, it was a good investment.

Perception brand is quality material. Smaller blades are good in windy situation and can keep up almost as well as larger ones when a kid is paddling. Easy to handle and take apart.

Kayak or racing canoe

Worked for my eight year old grandson better than the all plastic one we have. Blades seem sturdy though I wish they were a little bigger. Arrived

The paddle is advertised as a 190 cm paddle, but is indeed a full sized 230 cm paddle. We had purchased it for our child and it is too big.
