Excellent Casio ZR10
I have always had Casio cameras as I like the layout of them and the menu system.I am very pleased with the ZR10. The zoom is great and it's extremly quick when you switch on and also in shot to shot.I have taken lots of test pictures and put them on my computer and am really pleased with all the results - the close ups, pictures I have cropped on the camera, the various 'best shot' options everything. I would recommend this camera, especially the black version which looks so classy.

This camera is an easy to use camera
My purpose with this camera is to use it in my daly practise in analysing runningstyle. I had hoped that the high speed quality was better than it is. It demands for lost of light and if not, the movies gets dark and noisy. I hope that it will bee better, when I get more light and get more experienced with using the camere.

Very good value
An excellent camera with a large display and some fun capabilities in terms of high speed video and it's ability to take high speed still shots. Overall still quality is very good. The manual is poor and it takes a little while to find one's way around the menu system. Slightly disappointed with the video quality, it is capable of taking full hd quality but the autofocus during videoing can only be described as average. Purchased from Hughes as second hand. Unit was like new and delivered very quickly.

Not really worth the price. "Watercolour" like photos.
I bought this on recommendation from Consumers' Association in the UK and US. Unfortunately they have both got it wrong. It does look nice and is compact. However, the photos are really poor with much smudging (?CMOS sensor characteristic). There is low noise. The zoom is way tooooo fast. Video is decent, but again that fast zoom. I sold mine on and bought a Lumix. Sooooo much better photos..no smearing of details.

casio exilim zr10
This camera is much faster to boot up after a photo than my earliest casio, so no fixed smiles/grimaces as people hang about waiting for the camera. the new premium auto takes excellent pictures, better than just plain auto. the lens is very good too, even on zoom. slightly confusing having two menus for best shot, but you soon get over it. it's a little chunky too, however I would heartily recommend it.

Great gadget. Not so great camera.
I purchased the ZR10 (from a different retailer) but decided to return it. Starting with the positives, this camera is amazingly responsive. Having a cam which takes the shot as you press the button, rather than shortly after, was disconcerting at first as I'm so used to the modern phenomenon of shutter lag. The ability to shoot at up to 40fps is similarly astonishing - You'll find yourself testing this feature simply because it's there.Unfortunately,it's when you transfer your images and movies for viewing on your laptop or TV that things go downhill. The images are sharp in the centre but in wide-angle shots they move through soft and into slightly blurry territory as you reach the corners of the recorded image. On my unit this issue was more pronounced on the left side of images than the right, which was even more troubling. This problem decreases as you zoom in, but why have a wide-angle lens if it's only sharp for 35mm and up? The next problem is the so-called 1080p video. The stabilisation is so poor that even at a modest 5x zoom it's jumping and jittering badly. I shot the same scene using the ZR10 and my 2 year old panasonic FP8, and the 720p footage from the Panny was more detailed and far better stabilised. This is a shame, and when you also factor in the loud click recorded at the start and end of every zoom operation while in movie mode, you know it's time to give up on the ZR10 as a camcorder replacement. In short, the technology packed into this cam is fantastic, but if you are buying for the simple pleasures of capturing good quality images and videos you will probably be disappointed. Buy with caution!
