A great book highlighting the line of descent from Jean Nicolet and Jeanne Gisis via Madeleine and Elie Dussault through to 1800
This book is very helpful to those who are researching their family roots in Canada. Especially when that research takes one to the earliest days and to the very first Metis 'marriage' in Canada. As a far down the line descendant of Jean Nicolet and Jeanne Gisis (Giizis), followed by the marriage of their daughter Madeleine Euphrosine to Elie Dussault on February 22,1663; this book allows me to follow my line of descent right through to 1800 which is shortly before the birth of my Great-Great Grandfather Joseph Dussault who came out to British Columbia with the Hudson Bay Company, married a First Nations woman here and spent the rest of his life here. I surely appreciate the very thorough work done by Ms. Morin during her many years of research on this volume. I am sure there are descendants such as myself all over America who will benefit from ordering this book to enhance their family studies.

A great help in tracing my heritage
..A great help in tracing my heritage. Found many relatives that I was not too sure of, but between the information in this book and a genealogy site I research on; I believe I've made some proven connections..Volumes one and three are also very helpful to trace other fur trade era relatives ....
