These stainless steel springs were used as bait holders in crab traps. Attached in the bottom center of the trap, spring slightly stretched, bait like a chicken neck is placed under the spring. The spring puts enough pressure to hold the bait tight ,so the crab must remain in the trap to feed on bait. When the crabber pulls up the trap ,the feeding crab comes along.🦀 Also the springs are reasonably priced.

Springs look sturdy enough. We’ll see how well they hold up.
