Terra Trek Jacket

I’m a pretty tall guy (over 2 meters and about 235lbs). The xl tall fits, but I need to cinch it in a few places. I still get the reverse watch tan that all tall riders deal with. I’m in Southern California so Ill rarely use the insulation insert, and in the summer this can get hot. The vents help when you’re at speed, but waiting at a light, or moving through traffic you’ll heat up fast. The back pad is not rated and should be replaced if you care about safety.

I bought this for winter use. Mainly as a way to have weather protection and hold armor. My Klim Baja mesh gear gets me through 80% of the SoCal riding season, when combined with layers and a windbreaker. For cold weather, I will wear the Terra Trek without the zip-in liner, over a heated liner. Will fend off light showers, but I have proper rain gear for extended wet exposure. The cuffs are a little bulky, I really like the fleece lined hand-warmer pockets (all pockets are well placed and useful). A nice feature is that all the venting is directly into the inside of the jacket, not into an inner layer....this makes ALL the difference when it warms up and you have to vent a little moisture, or even when riding slow off-road. It's relatively light for a multi-season jacket. Added D3O back pad. I can attest to some nominal abrasion resistance...went down on pea gravel over pavement at about 25 mph...jacket took several hits as I rolled around; burned through at elbow pad (Fly Patrol pants blew apart, but to be fair, they are not really built for on-road use). Had the jacket patched and still perfectly usable. Would have replaced it with same if necessary. I think the price is fair for what you get (and this is the only jacket that met my specific requirements at a reasonable cost). Wish they offered a gray version, but the tan looks nice.Would have like to use the matching pants, but they are too snug in the knees for my preferred off-road knee protectors (Leatt 3.0 EXT).

Excellent jacket, pockets, looks, insulation, but zip is already damage on the bottom. Very disapointed
