Physicians Formula Organic Wear Lash-Boosting All Natural Mascara, Lifts, Lengthens, For Sensitive Eyes, Dermatologist Tested - Natural Origin Black

I was not at all sure about this when I first pulled it out of the box - the flat top, where you hold onto the wand felt weird and awkward the first couple times I used it. It only took a few tries to get used to, however, and the mascara is totally worth the effort! I have been very frustrated by "clean" mascaras (organic/all natural) because so few of them are actually dark! They tend to have a "natural" effect... i.e. they do very little of the volumizing or emphasizing of one's lashes that is so appealing in standard mascara! This one actually is an appreciably dark black, and adds both volume and emphasis. It takes more than one coat to the get look I want, but after two or three layers it looks just as good as the (sadly toxic) stuff I used to use. It does not irritate my eyes at all, and comes off completely cleanly and easily with a little bit of coconut oil. When smudged, it is also easily cleaned up and retouched. It DOES smudge - do not even think about rubbing your eyes or crying with this stuff on. I did not take off any stars for that, however, as it is apparently (and unfortunately) unavoidable in clean mascaras. Extensive reading of reviews for every mascara that gets safe ratings in the Skin Deep database sadly supports my own experience - easy smudge is just part of the price paid for not putting nasty chemicals near your eyes. *sigh* That said, as noted above, at least this mascara actually creates the look I have so missed being able to create and never irritates my eyes. Also, you can't beat the price! I was paying more than twice this much for another clean brand that smudged just as much and wasn't as dark. This is a good deal and a good product - definitely the best I've encountered so far, and I plan to stick with it!

great mascara & it doesn't clump

I love this mascara as it's more natural compared to the standard store-bought products. It's not easy to find in stores, so that's why it's great to just ship to your house from Amazon. It goes on smooth and it's easy to remove. I just always seem to go through it so quickly!

This is the first time Ive used this mascara and I usually love physicians formula. However, I was laughing so hard that I started tearing up and OMG, IT BURNS! The mascara started leaking into my eyes and was stinging very intensely. I could barely find my way to my bathroom to wash it off because I had to squeeze my eyes shut. Thank goodness I was at home and could wash my face, this product is dangerous!

Big fan of this brand for mascara. I have extremely sensitive eyes and this is one of the very few I can wear. It’s very natural. I usually pair it with one with thats darker with more lift and it helps calm the irritation the other one causes. 😂

I really wanted to love this because of the clean, non-toxic formula, which is the main reason I bought it. Unfortunately, the results just weren’t what I hoped for. It tends to go on a little clumpy, and it doesn’t really give me the length or definition I get from some other mascaras I’ve tried. It’s okay for a very natural look, but if you’re looking for big lashes, this one probably isn’t it. The tube also never closed all the way, which made it dry out a lot faster than other mascaras as well. I do appreciate the non-toxic ingredients, but I’ll be trying a different brand next time.

I tried this because I'm supposed to wear falsies for dance gigs, but sometimes it's just not worth the trouble (& I liked the original formula too). So I use this & it's effective in giving the look of falsies with 2 layers. It'll clump with 2 layers & smudges even in about 1/2 hour before we start dancing (but moisturizing & no waterproof type claims anyhow). If you wear mascara just for daily use, 1 layer's plenty. Just have qtips or something around. I'll still use this before long-lasting stuff with chemicals. If I had my way I'd never even wear mascara, but removes easily with olive oil & my lashes feel healthy & fine. Choose the battle that suits your preferences& needs best I guess : )

The Physicians Formula Organic Mascara has literally allowed me to start wearing mascara again. In my late 40s I started having allergy-itchy eyes after applying mascara. I tried multiple popular brands and they just made it worse. After doing some research I ran across Physicians Formula Brand. I placed an order and no more itchy eyes! I’m sold on this product and will never wear another brand.

My favorite mascara. Never causes irritation, glides on smooth. Been using it for well over a decade- suddenly Shoppers doesn't carry it. :( Their rebranded ones are terrible. I'm glad I can find it here ...
