Stylophone Beatbox

Birthday gift for our 14 year-old son who likes to beatbox. He loves it! There are so many sound combinations that he can make, recordings that he can beatbox along with, and he even enjoys using it as a self-soother when he's had a rough day. Great value for the price. Great creative outlet for teenagers. Just make sure to have batteries handy so they can use it right away!

The main purpose for this review is to complement the seller of the device, Nova Musik (Fulfilled by Amazon.com). I received the Stylophone Beatbox quickly, and it was packed perfectly as has been everything shipped by Amazon so far. It's to be a gift for my 10 year old niece, so I wanted to try it out first.I was disappointed that the battery cover is held closed by a screw, but everything else seemed well put together. The speaker was loud and clear enough, and sounds had lots of variety. Programming layered beats is a bit tricky, but she loves to figure things out, so it should hold her interest for a while.First the BAD part - fresh alkaline batteries were dead in one day, and after replacing them and making sure that I turned the switch (a physical slide switch, not a programmable button) to the OFF position, they were dead again a few days later. The third time I put in batteries, I found they heated up when I slid the switch off, indicating a short circuit somewhere.Now the GOOD part - when I called Nova Musik, their support person Brian was intent on making a good impression for the company. After apologizing for the problem, he offered to ship a new unit immediately so that the present would be ready for my niece. I could not have asked for better customer service, and am impressed that they went out of their way for a fairly low cost item.

We purchased a beatbox from another source and it didn't work at all. Made for a sad Christmas for my grandson!We were thrilled THIS beatbox was FABULOUS and worked perfectly! Glad we found one on Amazon!

Lamentablemente, la idea no fue bien ejecutada, es un producto más para coleccionar que para su uso. La verdad, luego de usarlo mucho tiempo, tiene varios fallos. El cable del lápiz es muy corto y a veces se incomoda su uso. El empaque donde viene es bastante barato y no trae nada como para protegerlo y poder llevarlo contigo y los sonidos de los samplers no son tan especiales como parecía. Aun así, tiene sus cosas buenas, como por ejemplo la opción de grabar loops, es excelente, tiene calidad y entrada de audio y puedes hace tunning del pitch de las notas, pero como menciono antes, es más un artículo para colecionar que para su uso.

I think this is the 2nd Best product they make. Makes some really awesome sounds and was used by several of Famous Artists.

fabulous fun, it's only 25$ and is the funnest thing ever. don't expect anything super slick, but Ijust gave this to a 14 year old girl for xmas and it was SUPER successful. i use it in my music classes and everyone goes crazy for it, so please do yourself a favor, get one and have fun with it.

Do not waste you're money on this it's sound is nothing like the video I wouldn't even buy this for your kids you can get a better drum sound from free apps in the app store that does more then this can do I'm very disappointed stylophone use to be so awesome but this is trash and doesn't even deserve one star

Stopped short of five stars based on the bad reviews of others and the retro stylophone that also came in the mail not working. That said, it is ingeniously designed and really does the job of an instrument I always wanted but could never afford, a Marimbula (Bass Finger Piano Cajón), I suggest that dubreq perhaps switch their operation to a country that both has good quality controls and where the instrument would find an eager local consumer market so that the factory cares about churning out a reliable product. The Caribbean, Latin America, and South Africa (countries where bass finger pianos are played and have a vibrant electronic music scene) are all countries where the product will be viewed by the culture, and therefore the workers, as an instrument rather than a toy, worthy of quality construction. I don't think the Chinese who Dübreq contracted making these things get it. The bottom line is value/quality, and it should come with a warranty.
