It is hard to find black lentils in my area. I originally could only find 5 pound bags, which is a lot of lentils. This package is much smaller, the lentils are delicious and the price is pretty goodl

These are smaller in size than I expected but they are still delicious. They boil up nicely but be aware the dark colored pigment of the lentils seeps out, coloring the water but the lentils still stay black. I like cooking these and crisping up in the oven with a light spray of oil, rosemary and salt to add a crunchy saltiness to creamy dishes.

This was delicious. Never tried black/beluga lentils before and surprised by how firm the lentils still are after being cooked 4-5 days later. Perfect for salads and side dish.
