AC Adapter/Power Cord for Gateway PA-1650-02 Laptop

I can't remember how long I've had this laptop exactly, but it's at least 5 years old. Anyways, even with good care and maintenance, eventually, computers and accessories will wear and tear just as anything else on this Earth. My power cord was beginning to fray something awful, and in order to keep a charge going to the laptop, I would have to halt whatever task I was in the middle of and gentle twist and push and pull to get a charge flowing. This worked alright for a bit...until I started to see a little bit of smoke from the exposed area on the cable, a replacement was long overdue.So after searching for a little while here on Amazon I had finally settled on this power cord, and I've pretty satisfied with it. As to be expected, there aren't exactly any bells or whistles with a power cord. You can plug it into the laptop, and you can wrap it up for transport/storage, that's about it really. It works very well for what it is, and I would recommend purchasing this product if you are in need or a replacement power cord.Pros:-Very good price for a power cord to use on a very outdated laptop.-It provides sufficient power to my laptop so that It may charge.Cons:-on the end of the cable that plugs into the laptop, there is a little bit of breathing room on the sides of the adapter. This isn't too big of a deal, but moving the adapter just a little too much will cause an interruption in the flow of power, enough so for me to bring it up in the review.

Works well with my Gateway and Toshiba Laptops. Well I bought this in September 8th. I really liked how it worked up until now. I use this cord in one spot, same spot every day. It doesn't move. It's now January 4th and It has a short in the power plug and power base. This isn't cool and for the last 2 months this power base has been getting so hot, I can smell it. I bought this because the price was right. But Idk now. I will have to buy another. I like this and probably will buy another one seeing I need it. But I wont recommend this for now until I get other one which I'll prob order next month when I can. If it does the same thing. I'm done with this brand of cord.

I bought this as a replacement for somebody because their power supply was dead, I searched specifically for a power supply with all the same specs and the L shaped plug, like the one in the picture. When it arrived it wasn't an L shape plug it was a straight one. The straight plugs are more prone to short circuiting and fall out a lot easier. All the specifications were accurate but the item in the picture is not what you will be getting.

It does the job, my only concern is how flimsy it feels, very light and small for my monster laptop, I'm afraid it'll over heat or something but so far, it works so we'll see.

Great price, work good

I bought this because it shows a right angle plug but comes with a straight plug which I was trying to avoid. It gets really hot too. The price was good though. I just feel if you're going to sell a product by a picture representation it should be a picture of the actual item or else it feels like a bait and switch.

Replaced the adapter and cord. Computer is used in the field, cord was frayed.
