Ideal Capacity for Lunch
I found the Bentgo leak-resistant bowl to be such a great deal with such high utility for both hot and cold food on the go that I bought a second one within a few weeks of the first one. The Bentgo bowl has two sealable lids, an inner lid with a pressure release, and an outer screw lid with a tight seal. The hot foods stay hot, and the cold foods stay cold.I typically use the Bentgo bowl for salads and casserole dishes. The outer lid has a compartment that houses a collapsable fork and spoon, so you'll always have eating utensils. I will frequently use the outer compartment for smaller snacks, some bread, or a few cut vegetables that I want to stay cooler when I'm carrying a hot meal in the main compartment.I mainly use my Bentgo bowls for lunch at the office, but it travels well anywhere ... the park or a long drive. If you do it right, it will save you lots of money on eating out, and it might help you stay on that diet by bringing your healthy food with you when you need to eat well and reducing food temptations that can be challenging.

Very useful
I bought this a couple times for my preschool kids. It is an insulated container perfect for school lunches. I only pack hot lunches and these containers kept their food warm until it was time to eat. It is a good size and quality container. If it keeps food warm it will also keeps them cold. It is leak proof and easy to clean. It came with a retractable fork and spoon in a suction slot on top of the container. I would highly recommend buying

Keeps the food from getting too cold
Doesn't hold the heat as much as I was expecting it to but the food was warm and not too cold by lunch time (said my son)

Great size, easy to clean and works well
We absolutely love our Bentgo bowl! It's a perfect size and shape (and works so much better than a thermos style container for things like rice bowls or other things where you want to get multiple things on your fork at the same time). The wide mouth makes it easy to eat out of and very easy to clean, I was a little disappointed that "dishwasher safe" did not apply to the entire container, in order to keep the seal working properly. However, it's very easy to wash by hand, so it's not tragic for me.It works well for keeping food warm until lunchtime, which is the main goal of course, but the shape and easiness of cleaning makes it perfect for us.

Nice size
My daughter likes this for school lunch. I can put macaroni and cheese, rice or any hot food. She says her food is still pretty hot when she eats it about 6 hours after I make it. The size is perfect too.

I really wanted to like this bowl
This bowl is really cute and comes in nice colors. The description of keeping foods warm for hours was promising. I needed a new set of breakfast and lunch containers so I gave Bentgo a try. Here is what I discovered:1. Nowhere in the description does it mention microwave safe. I read the questions asked by consumers and there was one that said they microwave it and have not had a problem. I was worried there might be some metal in the insulation so I emailed the company and their response was No, it should definitely not be microwaved. Its designed to keep foods warm only. This is understandable and in no way was it false advertising, but I wish there had been a mention of this on the website before I bought it.2. The seal is ineffective. I put cold stew in with the intent to warm it at work in a safe bowl, however the seal on the inner lid did not keep liquids in. I had about 1/4 cup of soup in the bottom of my lunch container when I got to work. On another occasion I put warm oatmeal in the bowl with the intent to eat it at work for breakfast. On the way I heard a pop from my bag. An hour later when I had time to get to my oatmeal I noticed the inner lid was what had popped. My oatmeal was no longer warm as the seal had released. The steam valve had been closed. I tried it one more time with the steam valve open, but that only ended up unscrewing the top on its own. Then another pop when the inner lid unsealed itself. This was oatmeal so it wasn't especially hot when I put it in.3. The cute design is actually a flaw (for me at least). The super smooth plastic, especially if my hands are cold (they normally are), make it difficult to grip the bowl. Maybe my hands are too small? The bowl just slides around in my hands unless I hook my finger on the edge and chance sticking it in my food. The screw top is nearly impossible to unscrew with cold hands, also. I had to grasp the bowl with my knees and use both hands on the smooth curve of the top.I have a few other containers from Bentgo that have worked as intended. Its just this bowl that I had problems with.

I Want to Love This, But…
I really wanted to love this little container but the design is somewhat flawed.1. The size and shape of the screw top lid is very hard to grip. Really unfortunate. It can be extremely difficult to open for a child or anyone with smaller hands.2. The inner lid that seals the container is only friction fitted. Meaning we don’t trust it to hold soup which was one of the uses we’d hoped for. Additionally, there is a silicone vent at the top which further compromises its spill-proofness.3. The small compartment in the lid is way too small for any reasonable use and way oversized to hold the compact utensils that came with the unit. With the fork and spoon in it, there’s no room to fit anything else.Because of it’s shape, the unit is huge for its capacity! Lots of wasted space.
