Works well for trigger finger!
I slowly developed trigger finger in my left middle and ring fingers over the past few months. I had hoped it would go away on its own, but my fingers became locked in a bent position more often and it was increasingly difficult to straighten them. I purchased these splints as a first measure in order to avoid steroid injection or release surgery. Each splint comes in two sizes - one opening is the regular size and the other opening is a half size bigger (i.e. Size 8 = one side is an 8 and the other is 8.5). To use it for trigger finger, you place the brace on top of the PIP (1st) joint with the opening underneath the finger. I used a ring sizer to measure my finger sizes prior to purchasing. If you are unsure about your size, purchase the combo pack of three sizes. In terms of using them, I've worn them for several weeks now and they are great! I love that I can comfortably wear them throughout the day and can even wash my hands or wear them in the shower. Try that with a velcro or padded splint and you'll have to worry about drying them. The splints keep my fingers from locking, but I can still somewhat bend my fingers and this allows me to grab onto objects with a diameter of 2.5" or bigger. This will vary based on the size of your hand, but I can still pick up my water bottle with the splints on. It does, however, prevent me from grasping onto the steering wheel in my car but I have learned to use my other fingers to wrap around it. Overall, I've noticed that my PIP joints are less swollen and I can easily remove the splints if I feel like massaging my fingers. If you are on the borderline of what kind of splint to buy, I highly recommend trying these!

Funny how that happens when you work for yourself
I got two sets of these trying them for the first time I didn't even know these existed but on a whim I thought I'd look up finger splints and found them. I have trigger finger in 6 fingers and as a computer guy i'm working at my desk 17 hours a day, 7 days a week. no days off. Funny how that happens when you work for yourself. Anyway, i was skeptical but after a little time, i'm completely sold. The ONLY complaints i have are the following. 1. order 1 size up from what you think. learned this the hard way 2. My ring finger on my left hand is the worst one, and it stinks because it's right between a 9 and a 10. 9 is too tight and causes my finger to swell at night, and a 10 is loose (yes even if i turn it around backwards) and I have to tape it in place to keep it from falling off at night. I NEED a 9.5 What shocked me is after awhile, I can take them off once i get going in the morning an the trigger finger is gone. Now, don't get me wrong, if I leave them off it comes back, but it most definitely helps, and is a thousand times more effective than taping was. I'm sold on these. problem is the reality is that I will need surgery on at least 6 fingers and can't even afford it on one. EDIT: I purchased these in January 2016. it's not October 2016. I wore them for a couple months. I left this review after a few weeks. Since posting this review i wanted to follow up. I wore these until the trigger finger went away completely, which it did. It's now 10 months after buying them, maybe 6.5 months since using them, and my trigger finger in ALL SIX fingers has not returned. Well i shouldn't say completely. there is a TINY bit in my right index finger, but it's so little it doesn't even bother me. it came back a month ago, but it hasn't gotten worse. These things are so simple but SO effective. if you have trigger finger and don't try them you're shorting yourself. You owe it to your own peace of mind to try them. What the heck, buy just one and try it. if they work but them for the rest of the problematic fingers. I can't even begin to express how glad I am I got them

Good for wet work, for short periods.
Fine for short periods, but uncomfortable for long periods, especially overnight. I find I use them when my hands need to be wet or messy, but use a Handfix splint most of the day. In combination, the two are workable. I have a ring size of 8, but fortunately ordered the 8,9,10 combination pack. The 8 is too small, the 9 is ok, and the 10 is the most comfortable and still works. The 10 may be too big, however, as I seem to have lost it -- it may have fallen off at some point without my noticing it. I'm using these to try to resolve a trigger finger problem, but I'm told it takes months, so can't report on effectiveness yet.

Using it for trigger thumb. Different sizes are useful. At night I change it out for one of the larger sizes.
