Can it be washed in the regular washer and dryer? Or does it need any special treatment?

Washing a wool blanket, and ESPECIALLY mechanically washing it, will shorten it's life significantly. All those fibers in your washer and dryer? They're no longer part of the blanket. Wash a wool blanket ONLY when it's really obvious that it needs it. If you can just hang it in bright sunlight that's much better for the longevity.

how much does it weigh?

It is extremely light and coming apart before I got it out of the pack. As bad a piece of junk as I have ever seen. I'm shocked that amazon still deals with it. Oh, and it stinks something awful.

What is the other 20 percent of the material in the blanket?

Synthetic fibers and fire retardant chemicals with names that if people knew where in the blankets they wouldn’t be sleeping under them.

Is this blanket machine washable in water and laundry detergent?

Well it’s wool, so machine was on wool cycle, on gentle cold water.
