Brought back memories
When I was growing up we had a close family friend who was German, like my mom and grandma. We would visit often over coffee and at her house, the coffee of choice was Melitta. I liked it better than our coffee at home. It was like a treat (yes, European raised children, back in my day, drank coffee with the grownups. Kids always got half cream half coffee, with a limp or two of sugar). For years, as an adult, I’ve searched supermarkets high and low for this delightful coffee (all the German import stores we used to go to in Chicago closed years ago). I was elated to see it on Amazon, I ordered a couple cans right away. Same smooth taste I remember, except now I drink it black, no sugar. It’s a bit pricey for 10.5 oz. Our friend used to buy a 2-lb can back when coffee came by the pound. (We always bought a 3-lb can of the brand we used. I always wondered why my mom never bought Melitta back then. They sold it at our neighborhood grocery store. It was probably a little more expensive than ours?) Anyway, if the price and quantity were better, I would put in a repeat order, but it’s great for a special treat and trip down memory lane, or when a special guest comes over to “Kaffeeklatsch“.

Good, strong, rich flavored coffee. This is the medium blend .It tastes like a real cup of coffee not like the weak blends you buy off the shelf.

Very good 100% arabica coffee at a reasonable price.
Been drinking Melitta coffee for decades, as I could buy it on sale for $2.99 in New Jersey; but since I moved to Atlanta, it was $5.99 at Publix. This double-sized can popped up for $7 & change here, so I grabbed a can. If you're ever in the Philadelphia area around Thanksgiving, they have a one-day-per-year factory at their USA headquarters in Cherry Hill, right at the Haddonfield-Berlin Road exit off of I-295 — Watch their website. Coming home every night from work, I always knew when I was home by the wonderful aroma from their roasters. Alas, they were forced by the awful NJDEP to install a fume incinerator to burn off the VOC's (volatile organic compounds) — This I know because my late father helped them set it up, as he had decades of experience with his own burnoff furnace's smoke & fume incinerators.

Great coffee, value ok
We like this coffee in our house, so I wanted to buy a larger quantity that was not available at my local supermarket. Same great taste the value really is not there as the coffee at the supermarket in a smaller size is often on sale and comes out to be almost the same cost

Great Coffee!
We have been using Melitta for years....in fact, that's one of the reasons I fell in love with my husband. Because he brewed a great cup of coffee and HE introduced me to Melitta. That was more than 30 years ago. It is a "mellow" brew so if you like your coffee stronger, you might want to add a scoop or two of a darker roast.

very affordable coffee...but an average price - be careful in getting "columbian" vs "columbian supreme"
I tried this along with: Juan Valdez Premium Columbian Coffee (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006J23YQ0/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1) Melitta Coffee, Columbian Supreme Coffee (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008EL7MNU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2) The Good Java Company - USDA Organic Fair Trade Colombian Small Batch Roasted Coffee (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HGK0ZKC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_4) Cameron's Organic Woods & Water Ground Coffee, 12-Ounce Bag (http://www.amazon.com/Camerons-Organic-Ground-Coffee-12-Ounce/dp/B005APL1DU/ref=pd_bia_nav_t_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1A97HR2J6F8KDRYRDCE5) CAMERON'S Whole Bean Coffee, Breakfast Blend, 32-Ounce (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006Y7WAHE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) And I found it sort of a 'blah' coffee taste. I will say I typically don't like Starbucks blends (taste burnt to me) and my 'sweet spot' is typically a medium blend with a lot of flavor. I generally stay away from 'flavored' coffees and will go with Columbian and Breakfast blends. So my review might be best served for those in that 'ballpark' of taste. I came away liking the Juan Valdez and the Cameron's Breakfast blend the most. The Juan Valdez might have come out a slight nudge ahead, however is much more expensive for the same sized bag. And my wife and I drink 2-4 cups of coffee each per day.
