Green water… “Mousse”, I think not. Germination? Not yet.
It gets one star. It blew the seed out of the dispenser, with green water. Once it hit the ground you couldn’t even see the green anymore. I have no idea what they mean by the “mousse”, in Hydro Mousse. We’ll see if the seed germinates. Nothing yet, and I’ve given it plenty of water. Ok, update. A week later. No germination. Nothing. Junk product.

RIPOFF!
Item shipped quickly. No problems with that. Item is a total ripoff, however! It does not cover any area of the lawn, and it did nothing to help grow the lawn (at all)!!! I had even purchased two of these and used both. Neither worked. Stay away from this item. It does NOT work!

Doesn't work on "any surface" and takes longer than a week to show any improvement.
Purchased for Central Florida in JuneIt has been 4 weeks since I used this on a 20 x 50 section of yard (mostly on bare spots).Step 1: Carefully read and reread the directions and watched the advertising videos. Create a plan on how and where you want to spray the seedsStep 2: Closely mowed the area where we intended to use the sprayStep 3: Follow the directions on the online video and apply to the bare spots starting with the worst grassless patch and work down in size. The water color should be green letting you know where you sprayed.Step 3: Wait 1, 2, 3, then 4 weeks. Results: All the bare spots except 1 have grass now but not thick and luxurious like the commercial after one week. There was no thick mousse while spraying but the coloring did make it easier to see where I had spread the seed.Little grass blades were poking through at 1 week, at two weeks, even more blades were poking through. We did not water during this time frame as we get afternoon and evening showers in the summer time. The lawn saw and inch and a half of rain during the first week and two inches the second week. There is one spot where were a tree had been removed and we have had not luck with growing anything in that spot for over a year now.The lawn has been mowed twice and there is definitely a thicker feel and look to where the thin spots were except for the one where the tree was cut down. Will we buy this again? Yes. because it is easy to see where you have been but you need about quadruple the recommended patience to see real results.

Garbage. Do not buy! Doesn't work and completely broke apart with 1st use.
Wow. I don't know what they do in the informercials to make it look like it works but this is absolute garbage. Followed all instructions on the box to seed the appropriate amount. There was no seed in the box as stated, just the green liquid that is their formula that makes the grass seed stick. So I put my own grass seed in the container and measured it appropriately with the right amount of green liquid. I turn the dial before I turn it on since I read that it can stick. I double checked the website for instructions because there were no other paper instructions in the box and I couldn't find any other instructions online. Hook it up to the garden hose and had to use pliers to turn the dial because it was so stuck. I started off with the light seed setting and all I got was water, I know because my grass seed is blue seed so it's easy to see on the ground. After a couple minutes the seed starting coming out and the water was tinged blue. There was no blue foam like the commercial. The amount of seed/liquid I put in was supposed to seed 200sq ft. It all came out in about 25sqft. I shake the cannister a little because I figure there's seed stuck at the bottom. By this time the cannister is starting to leak where the hose is connected and at the plastic grip where it looks like a trigger but is just a handle. I try to turn the dial to "off" and the dial comes completely off and the whole thing splits in too. Absolute gargbage!

Not the miracle it claims to be.
This is not a good product! As usual with as-seen-on-tv garbage, overpriced and under-performing. But I believe in specifics when I review something so let’s get to it. I purchased this as a skeptic but, since I had soooooo much yard to regrow, I decided to give it a try. I figured if it worked, awesome! And, if it didn't I would waste $25 and then move on to more expensive or involved methods. Now, I followed the directions to the letter and within the week (I sprayed on Sunday and began to see results on Wednesday) there was, in-deed, grass growing on my formerly barren yard. However, this product is far from the miracle it espouses itself to be. Here are some specific thoughts...Calling this product a “Mousse” is just inaccurate. It doesn't create any kind of "stick anywhere gel". I have a mostly flat yard, so this was not an issue for me. But, the little slope I have in the corner saw a flow of blue/green liquid streaming down. The little vial of liquid featured in the commercial seems to now be a little pack of dry chemicals. Which would make it impossible to measure out for anything smaller than the full amount used at once. This little pack is also impossible to open without getting at least a little on your hands - and it stains. I followed the directions to wash it off and instead of dark-green my skin was light-green but it took about a week for all traces to go away. The container (probably the saving grace of this system) is actually really easy to use. I needed to use all of the included seed at once so I didn't try a measuring out a smaller amount. But, I did use the side to see that the seed and chemical were a consistent volume for what was claimed to be included with the product. The container sealed easily and the selector switch on top worked exactly as it should. The water mixed with the seed properly and turned the water blue telling me it was time to spray. I used the light seed setting in an effort to maximize yard coverage. The included seed is not a set it and forget it product. It requires watering multiple times a day - just like any other commercially available seed. So, for my second "what can I loose" try I went to the local big box hardware store and bought some of the cheapest off the shelf grass seed - a small bag of this...https://www.amazon.com/Pennington-Central-Contractors-Mix-20lb/dp/B00Q49J4N0And filled the Hydro Mousse container with it. The seed had a blue-green coating on it and the exact same care instructions as the Hydro-Mousse seed. I sprayed the next quadrant of my yard with it and got almost the exact same result as using the Hydro-Mousse seeds and prep-solution.Same Blue-Green water from the sprayer.Same length of time when I started seeing results.Same green tint on the part of my hand that touched the seed.I also dropped some seed plain on the ground just to test a theory. The seed that was just sitting on top of the ground took 3 to 4 extra days to show results and that patch wasn't as thick. So here is my theory. The magic of the sprayer is that the light seed travels with a heavy water drop and gets slightly pushed into the soil with no extra effort from the user (no raking dirt back over the seed). In theory this makes application easier. Now, my results might have been better in the spring or fall rather than middle of the hottest summer on record, but my kid was away at camp which gave me an opportunity to try to grow grass without it being trampled on. I have been using the sprayer to seed a quadrant of my yard at a time and I am pleased with the results. It is possible that I would have gotten the same results just spreading the seed by hand or with a dry spreader, but I prefer to look at as I paid $20 for a water based sprayer and $5 for the seed.
