Incredibly practical.
The media could not be loaded. I love it!Super easy to use, just connect and wait for the light to change. In 7 minutes you have arepas ready and if you want them crispy 3 more minutes, that is, arepas ready in 10 minutes. The eggs turn out great (my kids love the way the machine makes the eggs)The pancakes are also super quick to cook. All in all this has made my mornings easier for preparing breakfast! A huge game changer.Note: The first time you use it, it gives off a particular smell but it is not transferred to the food and it is not noticeable the second time you use it.

This is awesome!
**********update*****Over use I have noticed the areas sticking to the machine. This was remedied by cleaning it with a soft silicone sponge and a drop of Palmolive and more importantly using butter and immediately putting the arepas to cook. **************************************So we used to have an arepa maker by oster or osterize bought in Venezuela. They sadly no longer don't make it or I can't find it. I looked for years on Amazon for a good arepa maker and most reviews were at best mixed even the imusa one. So when I saw this one, the price and reviews had me pull the trigger with low expectations. So far after a few months this machine has been a beast. It makes great arepas but tweaking the instructions and the dough. So the instructions say 10 to 14 minutes to cook. However I like my arepas crunchy so instead I would say 15 to 20 minutes. You also better off making the dough thinner so that it cooks better. The cons of the machine are pretty negligible and I'm comparing it to the older arepa maker we had that broke.Cons:*build quality: this machine has cheaper plastic and a lot lighter than the old one and smaller in size.*cook time: the old machine took like 8 to 10 minutes to cook. This machine takes double the time but cooks them well without an issue so I don't care.In summary unless you go to Venezuela or Colombia and can find a good robust arepa maker and bring it to the USA this is the next best thing.

Poor Quality, Tiny Arepas, and a Safety Hazard – Should Be Taken Off the Market
I rarely write negative reviews, but the Holstein Arepa Maker was such a disappointment that I feel obligated to warn others. First off, the build quality is extremely poor—cheap plastic parts, flimsy hinges, and uneven cooking surfaces. After just a few uses, it already felt like it was falling apart.Even worse, the arepas it makes are shockingly small—closer to bite-sized snacks than actual meals. If you're used to traditional, hearty arepas, prepare to be disappointed. This product feels more like a novelty toy than a real kitchen appliance. But the biggest concern is safety. The exterior gets dangerously hot, especially around the edges. I accidentally touched the side while trying to open it and got a minor burn. There's no proper insulation or warning labels, and I honestly think this appliance poses a risk—especially in households with kids. This product should not be on the market in its current form. Between the poor design, low performance, and safety hazards, the Holstein Arepa Maker is a huge letdown. Avoid it at all costs—and frankly, it should be recalled or banned altogether until the manufacturer addresses these serious flaws.

Worked good for a year….fixed it pretty easily... back in action.
Please add a fuse switch or something. Ours quit working after a year. I’m going to tear it apart and see if there is a fuse I can replace. Lights still turn on, does not heat up. (Not a tripped GFI)ok, i took it apart, pretty easy, a few Phillips head screws, and found a push on connector that was no longer connected, i pinched it closed a little tighter and slid it back onto the male end, gave it a tug and it feels like a good connection. i lined everything back up and replaced the screws and plugged it back in, works like a champ again. taking it up to 4 stars.
