Most of the functions work, some buttons don't seem to do anything, maybe I still need to learn how to. I'd like to be able to adjust the bass/treble but can't figure out how to. I have the htr-5740 and works to my surprise. The reciever I bought on ebay without the controller so had to find a replacement. A little pricey compared to others but confirmed works with my unit.

This works with a Yamaha HTR 5740. The buttons do not all work or match there intended use. You can turn on/off, control volume, get to basic settings, use tuner and make sound adjustments.

Didn't do anything and got really hot within a minute of putting the battery in, right over the battery compartment. Very odd. Must be a knock off.. don't get.

I have been searching for years for a suitable replacement remote for my yamaha stereo. I wasted nearly $100 on used factory remotes that turned out to be junk. This is the one you want.
