Wonderful!
This book is a guidebook for the deck. It is not a regular book. But, I did read it cover to cover and I was enthralled with the archetypes & beings that are in this deck (and in this reality universe!) Quareia is a system that is very tough. It isn't light and fluffy. It is hard work and focus. But if you stick with it and keep your mind on it, you can do it! Really the difficulty weeds out the people that are not that committed for the good of them AND the rest of the universe. I am an Apprentice student using the Quareia system, and it is tough. But there is no time limit to do it, and you can go as you please. This deck is part of the more higher ranks of students, but it is still nice to have to get to know all of the beings. Quareia and understanding the universe in this way, is a very humbling experience. If you are going to stick with this program, it is a great one! But not for the half-assers.Just so everyone knows, the whole system of magick is FREE on their website. But, I bought the books (Apprentice Textbook, Magical Knowledge Trilogy, Magical Healing & the Tarot one.) I work alot better with a real book. I think buying the book is a real treat, if you can afford it.....As Above, So Below..

Great book.
This book is not like the original one, this is the second edition, so the cover is plastified, but everything else is the same as it should be, except that I'd like my books to be stitched instead than just glued. 236 pages of incredible knowledge and wisdom very well written by Josephine McCarthy, very well illustrated by Cassandra Beanland and Stuart Littlejohn, indeed each of the Quareia cards are well illustrated in colors in this book, the book does not come with the deck which it has to be purchased separately; mind you though, this is not a fluffy deck. All things considered this is a true "work of art" from these awesome light workers.Great job, thank you!

A Must-Have for Quareia Magician's Deck Users!
Let me start off by saying that the Quareia Magician's Deck is not like Tarot. It is not like any other oracle or divination deck you have ever seen. It is meant to be used for serious magical work and divination for in-depth questions. According to the foreword, the Quareia Deck,"....draws upon the mythic mystical and magical powers that underpin the magical systems from which tarot developed. It is based on real inner realms, real inner contacts and beings and forces that the practitioner of magic is very likely to involve themselves with."Author and creator of the deck, Josephine McCarthy, goes over each of the 81 cards illustrated by her artist husband, Stuart Littlejohn, and daughter Casandra Beanland in the deck as well as both the mundane and magical meanings. If you are like me and got the small book that came with the first edition of the deck, this book is an important expansion of the ideas and meanings presented. If you are a Quariea student, then you are going to want this book and deck for certain. That being said, a word to the wise: Don't use this divination deck unless you want the bald-faced truth in your face - and believe me, you're not going to always like the answer that you get. You get the distinct pleasure of having to work through your "stuff".I absolutely love this book and have bought a copy for myself and one for my spouse who is also going through the Quareia course. Please note that you can download this book for free at the Quareia website in PDF form. However, in my view, it's always good to have something hands-on that isn't on a screen. Also, if you are looking to find out more about the Quareia deck and how to use it, there are several videos, including those by Josephine herself to check out on YouTube.

Wonderful Deck Companion
This book is a wonderful companion to the Quareia deck, regardless of which edition you have (if you purchase the deck off Quareia's site, it comes with the book, so no need to do both). It has a beautiful navy softcover with a sueded feel with minimal printing (no printing on the binding). The book contains a table of contents, sorting the cards by by category, a spread for each card with a large image of the card, same size as the image on the card itself, on the left and detailed description on the right, and several layouts in the back with a detailed explanation. There is the occasional quote interspersed throughout the book from historic individuals, classical works and a few from McCarthy's other books. The card descriptions both include details for both magical and mundane readings, though I have found that some of the information that would be applied to magical readings can also give additional insight to the mundane.Because the Magician's Deck is its own system, this book cannot be applied to other tarot or oracle decks. If you have the first deck and would like a hard copy of the book (the PDF sans images is available on their website), this is a worthwhile purchase.Side note: if you need further assistance on either the Mystical Map layout or the Landscape layout, Quareia's youtube channel has two videos on the former and one on the latter.

Highly recommended for those on the Quareia traing course
I loved the artwork. It is clear and concise and has the added bonus of being compatible with the Quariea training course so ably written by Josephine Mccarthy. Highly recommended
