If you plan to store gasoline or diesel fuel, always use the correct type and amount of Stabil. Rotate your stock every 6-9 months. Never store either fuel for a year or more. Store in a cool place.

It's hard to tell how well this stuff works. My bus starts when I wanted to even if the diesel is pretty old, so I guess it's doing its job.

We have been using Sta-Bil For Diesel Fuel for a few years now on our stored fuel. Seems pretty high priced, which I don't like, but at 1 ounce per 5g can makes it fairly reasonable. I like the convenient quart size. Note there is a limit on time once the container is opened. Any larger container size, I would have a hard time using it up in a reasonable amount of time. I use it for storing about 70 gallons of diesel in 5g NATO steel fuel cans. I can not say for certain that it makes a difference but it is good piece of mind as I store our back up ranch fuel sometimes as long as two years.
