Great case with one strange design decision
I purchased this case the along with my TouchPad the day the firesale began. Without consideration I jumped on the $6.95 sale and within 30 minutes of placing the order Amazon was sold out. I notice the price has increased drastically, but if it were available at around $15 I would purchase it again as it is a really nice case.Reading the other reviews and comments I figured I could add some clarification and perhaps answer some common questions.First, the fit and feel of this case are both excellent. The leather is very high quality, the stitching looks very nice and I have no concerns that this case will last a very long time while looking great and protecting my TouchPad. There is a leather flap on the inside of the cover that folds under the TouchPad to keep it held in place and prevents it from falling out of the case in any circumstance. The cover is held down with two magnets on both of the corners, something that HP should have done with their official case. There is a very small amount of space between the case opening around the display that can be used for swipe gestures, but if you have long fingernails it could be difficult to use them. There are cutouts for the application/menu button, camera, volume controls, headphone jack, power button and speakers. Again, the fit and feel of this case are excellent and having used it for the last two weeks and comparing it to the official HP case and the clam shell hard case that were both purchased for my wife's TouchPad, I prefer this case.Last week we picked up the TouchStone charging dock and I am happy to report that this case works perfectly fine with it in portrait mode, which brings me to what I consider a strange design decision (also the reason for my 4 star as opposed to a 5 star rating). The way the case flap opens and secures means that you have the application/menu button on the left when the tablet is mostly flat and only on the right side when stood up nearly vertical. In practice the tablet is mostly used in landscape mode and most games are fixed to display with the button on the right. This includes Angry Birds, Quell, etc. meaning that unless you want the tablet pitched away from you, the flap is worthless in this mode for propping up the tablet. Circling back to the TouchStone, the orientation for charging also means that the flap has to be at the bottom when on the dock rather than on the top. I found that the charging was not very consistent in this orientation and this basically forces me to charge it in portrait mode, which is not desirable if you want to display pictures or something else in Expose'.In summary, aside from one questionable design decision, this case is perfect for me and even with that considered I still recommend this case if you are looking for something professional that looks and feels great and will keep your (super expensive :p) TouchPad well protected.

A bargain case!
This is about 25% of the cost of HP's official case. While I have not used HP's case I do know it does not have the magnetic closures like this one does, which was a big plus for me in my purchasing criteria. For the price, you cannot beat this case. It fits the Touchpad snugly, closes easily. Now, if you drop your Touchpad- this will certainly hold up better than it being "naked" however keep in mind that any case won't make your device immune to drops. I think if you dropped it on its corner, it'll still have a high chance of breaking- and I'd even say that of an Otterbox, etc in regards to cell phones. My main point in purchasing this was to keep it from getting scratched up (dragging it along a surface, setting something on it, etc) when not in use.It has hole openings for the headphones, mic, camera, buttons, and speakers. I don't ever forsee a need to take it out of this case once it is in it.Build quality seems pretty good. I am not sure if it is real leather or fake leather, but for $15 I don't think it really matters, it seems like good quality material. Only after long term use will I see how the stitching, etc holds up when folding the cover back to use it, etc. I keep coming back to the fact that I can't believe this was so much less than anyone else's case.A big plus for me is it also makes it look like a notebook, which could be said of any case, but it is surely a theft deterrent. It also doesn't make a person look like such a dork carrying around a big tablet when you're like me and just want to be discrete unless you're using it.Very pleased. Even if you have to buy a new one every year (which I honestly don't think will happen- I'm just saying!)- for the price I don't think you can beat it.

Functional, Attractive and a Good Value
I am quite pleased with the poetic case for the HP TouchPad. The leather is ridged making it easy to hold. It provides enough support for the tablet in two landscape positions when the top cover is folded back under and tucked into a flap on the backside of the case. The case is cleanly styled and understated with the only flare being an embossed name in the lower corner. I'm not a fan of contrasting stitching, but this looks attractive (provided threads don't break and pull out). The pouch is properly sized to hold the tablet securely yet easily remove it if you need to. The folder is slim and the edges extend just a little to provide some protection from minor bumps. There are properly sized cutouts for all buttons and ports making them (except for the Center button) accessible when the case is closed. The interior surface is soft, but can latch onto grit after serving as a stand so brush it off before closing the case.Swiping gestures from the edge to on-screen are hit or miss because of the leather frame border, but you can always use the Center button to get to Card View. The tablet can be charged with the cover on using the Touchstone pad. Careful place it on the charger, as it has not much of a lower shelf to hold it in place. They did have to make a design choice in orienting the table in the case. The hinge is along the bottom edge. This is important when set up as a stand and running an app that doesn't auto-rotate such as full screen YouTube. However, this places the speakers along the spine muffling the sound slightly when the case is closed. In addition, the only practical way to view the TouchPad while charging is in landscape with the cover lying flat open in front of it.Overall, a very functional and stylish case -- You won't see my TouchPad to be running around naked ever again.
