Good enough for me and easy to understand. Great buy
I have had a lot of cheap multimeters. They were hard to read and harder to really understand the settings and I never could figure them out the 3-4 times a year I might need to use one. This meter is much better and perfect for me for basic work around the house. As my first use for this meter, I wanted to test a AC unit capacitor to see if it was bad. This meter has that setting and worked great confirming it was bad, so I replaced the capacitor myself for $20 bucks vs a $200+ AC repairman! The meter is good size, about the size of your hand. Display is large and easy to read. Backlight display is really bright. It has a "contact" voltage setting. Hold it to an outlet/switch or power cord and it will show bars if it detects power. Can test 120 volts, car battery or quickly all small battery sizes. Also has a beeper for test continuity/broken wires etc. . To me it has everything the "average joe homeowner" needs, is not overly complex and easy to understand settings. I thought about spending more, but after getting this for under $20 bucks, this was the best decision and best value. Does everything I will ever need with easy to read and understand settings. There are a lot of reviews on YT that show you have to use this model and shows it has good accuracy as well. I am happy with it.

Easy use, accurate, and good price. Cheap plastic, though.
As a DIYer, I didn't want to spend too much. I found this at a good price and good reviews. Easy to learn and all seems to work fine; it paid for itself while checking on my car's electric circuits. Now I can play with checking small batteries and electricity outlets in the house. I just wish the plastic case would be a nicer material instead of cheap, ordinary hard plastic, even if the price be a little higher. It's not a professional tool, but has a lot more than I'm ever going to need.

A good backup multimeter at reasonable price
I already own a professional multimeter and other test equipment that are kept on the workbench for electronic projects. This purchase is a backup that has the basic functions at a good price. It is sufficiently compact to fit in a small toolbox with other essentials. The display is easy to read. My only criticism is the test leads seem a little flimsy and require some force and twisting to fully place in the sockets. Not a problem for me because I have lots of extra high quality test leads. A bit of advice: I tossed the batteries that come with the meter. They are zinc-oxide type and will not last even in storage, and might even leak in the battery compartment. Use good alkaline batteries instead.

Excellent, just two minor issues
Great multimeter, works well. Very accurate, ran several tests and all of them met my expectations. Only two gripes is that the leads aren’t the best quality (see picture) but they do seem durable enough so I’m not too concerned, the other (more concerning and mildly infuriating) is that the backlight doesn’t stay on. Just a crappy design in my honest opinion. But other than that, a great multimeter

Perfect for Guitar work.
Simple multimeter. Has the 3 main functions to measure on guitar electronics, OHM, Ground and Capacity on pots, pickups, capacitors and ground. Other units may not have capacity measurements.

Measures capacitance and has some nice features not found on other meters in this price range.
I purchased this AstroAI multimeter to measure the capacitance of HVAC capacitors. I own several other multimeters, but none of them have this feature. I have a brand new 45/5 uF capacitor and this multimeter read 44.2/4.95 uF, well within the 6% tolerance level of the capacitor. Comparing some other readings with my most expensive Ames multimeter, it read 0.4% lower for a 120V AC circuit (122.5 vs 123.0), and 0.1% higher for a 1.5V AA battery (1.620 vs 1.604) . While this does not indicate the true accuracy of the meter, it does at show that it is working properly and will meet my needs. Besides measuring capacitance, this multimeter has some other nice features not found on other meters in this price range. These include True RMS, a lighted display, a non-contact voltage (NCV) indicator, and auto shutdown should you forget to turn it off.

Reasonable results
I purchased three of these AstroAI DMs and when they arrived they went straight to the lab for testing. First off, they passed the battery and DC voltage measurements. They performed well with only slight variations in voltage readings to within three hundredths of a volt. Second was direct current testing in the mA range where they also performed well. Third, was rectifier testing where all three were capable of properly measuring the voltage drop across the PN juntions. Fourth, was testing the capacitance of several cap values and types. They performed surprising well in tests ranging from 300nf to 470uf to include mylar and electrolytic caps. The accuracy of the capacitance readings exceeded expectations for twenty dollar meter. In all tests, the results were compared against bench meters and no significant deviations were found. Fifth, was resistance testing where it seemed to produce some dynamic readings to within a range rather than settle in on a specific value. The resistance testing was a mild weakness with the meters I received. So my five star rating is based upon overall performance relative to price. I'm not going to address what constitutes a solid or a flimsy plastic polymer case as that is too subjective and not worth discussing with a $20 meter. The leads seated well into the meter on all three meters. Finally the display is easy to read and the setting knob has a solid position seating feel. This meter is more than adequate for most uses but you already know that meters of this price will have some limitations.
