Actually controls all of my devices.
The last universal remote I used before this one was from about 10-15 years ago but this one is the first that has worked 100% perfectly! ++ 2 Double A batteries: VERY convenient. ++ The first code worked for each of my equipment pieces. ++ Can make the volume & mute button always be controlled by one of the 4 programmable pieces no matter which device you are controlling. The first code worked with my TCL 6 series roku tv. All the buttons work exactly the same as they do on the roku remote. I have a pioneer AV sound system (vsx-830) The first code worked for that. This remote also controls my Xbox one X which I use as my blu ray player. You are able to program the remote so that no matter which device you have selected to control, when you want to change the volume it will automatically use the audio device. I can be controlling the roku TV and easily mute commercials or change the volume without having to press the AUD button to change to that device. It's the perfect remote that actually made all my devices be controlled with just one remote. 5 stars.

GE (Rok) u need this
If you want to get a backlit remote for your Roku device, this is the remote to do that with. BUT only the Infrared NOT the RFID. Like many, I was surprised that the Roku remote isn't backlit & more so, that they don't make any. Kind of weird in 2022 isn't it? So I looked around for a remote that would be. What I found is this. If you have one of the sticks, you can't find a remote that will work. You need to go to an IR Roku device. One that is infrared. Just how it is. You'll probably get a great discount from Roku on them because you already own one. I wanted to have the better cable & better wifi device, so got an IR one cheap. Setup was too easy. Batteries in (I used some rechargeable). I did program the Roku unit with it's remote in case something went wrong. Nothing did. They suggest using code entry, & I used the first code in the book for the Roku device, & the first four digit code for my TV. I set up the Roku as CBL, because I'll eventually cut the cord. I covered the cable box with a towel just in case. That was it. All I need do is press TV, then power, then CBL & I can control the Roku device. Voice. If you have a Roku stick, you know the voice only works on the Roku screen, so it isn't all that helpful. This remote doesn't have one. If you want that, get one which does have a microphone feature. If I find I can't live with out it, I'll put a review on that. Right now. This is working fine. I still reach for the side to hit mute, but I'll get out of that, soon enough. All of the Roku buttons work. The OK 4 arrow "D-Pad" works fine, the return & back button, the asterisk works as it should. GE programmed the code to work for everything. I will say that the numbers are a waste for the Roku, because once you hit the #1, you go right to Netflix. I haven't played with the A,B,C, or D lettering as yet, but I think it depends if the Roku device itself uses special keys, some do. Also a downfall is that that lighting doesn't stay on very long. So you need to "find" a key that none of your devices use in order to light it up. Sometimes volume is the easiest to find by feel & doesn't affect everything as much as the OK button does.

Inexpensive, durable, works great
This is the third one of these I have had. They seem to last about 3-4 years before the buttons start to fail and the device sort of wears out. Each time they have gotten cheaper. This one was half the price of the first one I bought 6+ years ago, but it is better: it is fully backlit and uses AA batteries rather that AAA, so theoretically they should last longer.

A great remote if you find the right code
I bought this for my father, after he had issues seeing the buttons on his old remote. He is vision-impaired, so I thought the backlit buttons would be useful. They're bright enough that he can see the buttons and I picked a remote color that makes it much easier to find if misplaced. Using the remote is fairly simple once we had the right code. Even though it can auto code search, I recommend trying the codes yourself. The remote worked with our tv, but some of the buttons didn't function correctly (mute selected language, ok was for password, home nor menu worked). I decided to manually put in the code and now everything works as it should.

I purchased the GE 4 device remote and it is fantastic 10/10 for my needs. I have a new Samsung 65” TV (not our main TV) and Samsung soundbar that I watch in a very dark room, mainly watching Netflix movies and series. I only use this Universal remote for the Samsung TV and soundbar, and don’t use it for any other devices such as Bluray player etc. I have been using this remote out of the box without having to change any codes. The backlit buttons on the remote are fantastic in the very dark room, just what I have been looking for. Some reviewers have commented that the Back button on this remote doesn’t work, but the Back button on my remote works perfectly. The only minor glitch I have found with this remote is that although the On/Off button powers on my Samsung TV and my Samsung soundbar immediately at the same time, the On/Off button doesn’t power the TV (and soundbar) off unless I firstly press the Home button, and then the Power button….. only a minor glitch. Otherwise all buttons work well, e.g. the volume button adjusts the volume on the Samsung soundbar perfectly, Fast Fwd etc work well. What I particularly like is that the main centre OK button pauses the show I am watching and a press of the adjacent > button advances 10 seconds with each press. Press OK to resume playing again. I usually prefer this to the Fast Fwd button that advances too quickly. In short, for the price, this remote is excellent for my needs.
